Alox Packaging
on: May 24, 2014, 05:20:02 AM
Hello folks. Just have a quick question for you. I recently bought my first Alox Pioneer and I bought it off this guy from ebay:  http://stores.ebay.com/Altatac?_trksid=p2047675.l2563

It comes in a clamshell package. I know that all SAK's are made in Switzerland but i was kinda concerned about the packaging. Is it in a clamshell because it was US-bought? Are the boxed knives more desirable? Should I be leery of clamshell-packaged SAK's? Thank you in advance!

No worries on being leery of clamshell packaging. I actually prefer it as you know for sure no one has ever opened it.

Welcome to the forum.  :tu:

Outstanding. Thanks for the reply and the welcome. I actually would much rather prefer the boxes. Went to Zurich back in '12 but only got token wenger evo's. It's when i went back to the US and 2 years later when the SAK bug bit me. Sucks. Oh well. Hopefully i can arrange a second trip to Switzerland.

By the way, for those who have never been there, i HIGHLY recommend going. Put it on the bucket list. Hands down THE most beautiful, clean, historic, progressive, and efficient country EVER. AND sak's as far as eye can see.

I have always wanted to go to Switzerland. Maybe someday.

Anyways, glad to have you on the forum.   :tu:

Ive bought lots from that seller and they are all the clamshell type. Maybe he bought out a store or something as that is the type that is often found in retail locations.
PM me or email sakmodder [at] gmail . com if you are looking for custom SAK work.

Ahhh....good to know someone here has gotten stuff from the same guy. His prices are VERY GOOD. I wish he had more alox stuff though.
