I wouldn't go as far as to say nuts. Close, but not quite.
The ToughTool has a strong following with some professional who need the pliers on the original ToughTool, which are some of the best pliers found on MTs.
The TT is one of the better antiquated design executions. But, that said, it is definitely different from most tools and will require some major adjustment.  :)

 :iagree:

That would be awesome, David. :like:

It should be fun and it would be one of a very few challenges done with tools that most of us don't actually use. It's one thing to do "challenges" with Spirits and Rebars, but using antiquated tools makes it an actual challenge. :)

Thanks to Mr. CeHo sending an awesome gift, a mint-condition V.1 USA TT was added and is a real beauty. Also added a riveted early China-made ToughTool. Nice transition from the late version cast-pliers USA TT to the China made TT.

How does the Tough Chip compare to other shears-based multitools from leatherman, fiskars (the one similar to the MP600) and outu?  I’m liking the look of the toolset and especially the large tweezers. I’m looking for a scissors based multitool to put in a first aid kit. Something to cut bandages with... and something that could cut off denim or even leather would be great.

I have the outu and the fiskars tool. Both are neat but the touch chip looks like it may be the winner for a first aid kit.

Charles.

Denim and Leather are a no-go for the Chip. IMO. :ahhh

Do the schrade tough tools fit in the tough chip? Or are they completely different sizes?

Sorry to report they don't. The Chip is basically a keychain tool, maybe a bit bigger. The ToughTool is a mid-HD sized. The OG ToughTool competes with the original LM SuperTool.  :)

Okay. Was wanting to mod in a can opener but that’s not in the cards.

I just received my tough chip today and it’s in terrible shape.  Scissors look like they’ve been used to cut wire and metal, and the tab for the tools is bent so none of the tools lock, and they’re all loose. I’ll be sending it back :(

Charles.

Sorry to read you got one from a tool-ignorant and/or unscrupulous seller. :-\

One of the reasons I started buying discontinued tools in "like new", or new without packaging, condition when possible for user tools.

Put together an imgur gallery with all tools compared on several versions of ToughTools.
Normally I'd have all the photos shown, but imgur is being a real PITA about it. :ahhh
