Wenger Gift Set - Rare bird or users?
on: June 12, 2014, 04:21:38 PM
I have bought a Gift set recently I had not seen before.
I think we are all familiar with the various Maglite/Viictorinox Combo sets, like solitaire with Micra or Classic or Mini Mag with a vic.
This one contains a 2 layer 85 mm Wenger (Commander?) with translucent red scales.
It has the locking screwdriver, but no "Patented" stamp. The scales have no toothpick and tweezer and the Nailfile points away from the blade.

Now, do i rob the scales and slap them on a Traveller and toss the red Maglite in a toolox or is this set collectible and should be kept together?

Both items are unused, the paperwork and gift box is included.

I'd keep it as a set... I think it'd be a shame to just scalp the scales off it.

Thanks.
My problem is:
I do like kits and sets. But I won´t use them. So I tend to stick with them a while, play with the contents and then let them go.
Maybe I do have a MT problem... ;)

I think I´ll put it up un the sales corner for my costs and when no one wants it, I´ll take this as a sign that I should have a go and slap teh scales on a different knife.

This set look pretty sweet, and I must admit I haven't seen transparent scales much.  I do suggest to keep them for a while, but definitely keep the batteries away from the box since they do leak in a longer run.  It happened to many of my Maglite set I have collected over the years.
