I had a Case Camper and in no way, shape, or form did it even come close to comparing to a SAK. I may have gotten a lemon though. And as for strength? The Case Camper may be stronger than a cellidor handled SAK but I doubt it's as strong as an ALOX handled one.

I never did any sort of strength tests of my Case Camper versus my Vic Tinker.  I still have a Case Camper around here somewhere, but I can't seem to find it right now to compare to a Tinker.

Without having done any real tests, my impression from using both knives was that the Camper is stronger.

Its blade and implements seemed a little bigger and beefier.

And the Camper weighs almost twice what a Tinker weighs, which at least gives the impression of greater strength.

I really wish I hadn't lost my bookmarks, this would be a lot easier.

Now, if I remember correctly there is a Czech company that makes knives in the Vic OHT pattern and has quite a variety of styles, including an Automatic Rescue Knife complete with implements comparable to the Rescue tool. I can't think of the name but I do remember being interested in their take on the OHT since the implements and chassis looked to be almost exactly the same.

Anybody got the name of the company?

i knew i read about this somewhere: SosakOnline!

Thanks for pointing to these articles, Carlos.

The article on Aitor knives was very informative.  I used to see Aitors at a local store some years ago, and I always wondered how they'd stack up against a SAK.

The article on Camillus Boy Scout knife versus SAK Soldier was good.  The author stated that the fit and finish of the Camillus was superior to that of the SAK, which is high praise indeed.

It's been my experience that both the Camillus and the Case Boy Scout knives usually have very good fit and finish.

The Case Camper knives I've owned all had very good fit and finish - at least as good as my SAKs, if not better.

In fact, I've never owned a Case knife that didn't have at least very good fit and finish.  All of the more expensive Cases (of which there are many, many models) that I have examined had excellent fit and finish.

Woo! That's what I was looking for. Mikov makes SAK clones, not sure about the quality since I haven't been able to purchase one yet but the implement selection looks good. I can't find the actual Mikov homepage with all their knives listed but the below example show a little of the implement selection they offer. Apparently they've been sold at Kmart in the US?

Wait, having one? Why???

In Israel, you can keep claymores in your home, so long as they never leave it. I thought the law was similar.  ???

P.S. Claymores > SAKs

Claymore?

Do you mean a Scottish broadsword?

Or perhaps, the American anti-personel weapon?

Like Mike has already touched on, there are knives that are actually illegal just to own over here.  It makes no difference if they are kept in your house.

well u gat charges here too if u go and stab someone with auto or if coppers found one from someone, but some people see the law as so big restricment,i mean that anyone can get a gun here, and there too,no matter if its legal or not.

i dont have any illegal knives, but ive owned some vintage italian ones, that are now on @ some collectors possession.

but here u can carry a multi tool almost anywhere in beltsheath,no one gets scared of it,its prohibited by law but not eeven cops bother to take em away cause we dont stab people;).and those who work on constructonsites etc can carry any blade at ther working hours in public.its really rare if someone stabs here,in streets or at restaurants, pubs or so,only some drug addicts and alcoholics fight with mora´s & kitchen blades, and kill each other but thats how the nature limits their amount i guess.

If Case would ever see fit to include a Phillips driver, I might still be EDCing a Case instead of a Vic Tinker.

I was thinking they should install a saw :)

When I happened across this Case Boy Scout model, for some reason I thought of micky d :

Nice looking Camillus there, Carlos.

Is that an awl or a Phillips driver?  Hard to tell from the pic.
