Hi 'All Mod member.

I just's finished 2 wood scale made from the rare wood " Tamarind "  They are very old and perfect for wood scale making.
the  3 dot was made from mother of  pearl . Enjoy and have a nice day.  ;)

That is one of the most beautiful wood mods I have ever seen
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

Here's my Recruit and Rambler, replaced the scales with carbon fiber.. the only thing i didn't do was put the toothpick and tweezers on, although it would have been a good color match for the carbon fiber,,,  JR

WOW, after going threw 101pgs, just replacing the scales looks like squat! id like a custom SAK, yet don't know anything about doing it. at the same time would have to buy 3 in order to get the parts that i want, here's a pic of what id like, just fig i would throw it out there to see, if its possible, id really like a philips, yet don't want a magnify glass, but don't think it would fit? if i remember, someone did have one with out the glass? and after seeing the pocket clip on everyone's mods that looks amazing, let me know what you think,,  JR

With enough filing and grinding anything is possible ;)

I've seen other tools fitted opposite the phillips on a 93mm frame but I've not seen anything done to a standard even approaching factory.  If I'm just being forgetful I'm sure someone will come along an  :pok: me.

Looking at your picture I'm not sure how successful adding that 84mm nail file would be.  It drops too low when you try and fit it on a 91mm frame and I'd guess you'd have the same issue on a 93mm. I've not tried it though.

Your CF re-scales look fine by the way :tu:   Quit giving yourself a hard time :D
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

Sweet Super-GAK. Only thing nicer would be to add a phillips, either an inline opposite the scissors like you see on the Outrider, or less desirably, in place of the corkscrew.

And my stuff is mainly thanks to Spork and Scibeer :)  Its great to see more folks getting the bug :tu:

I've seen some nice GAK mods with brighter coloured scales.  I think its because you expect to see them in more drab colours that these appeal to me.  Not saying it won't look nice in a dark wood though, just food for thought  :)

+B posted a link to this website on Facebook today. Says he will be selling some of this gentleman's work in the future. Some very nice custom scales on various SAKs.

This link is directly to the photo album. The rest of the site is in German.

My usual EDC knife is a Victorinox Super Tinker. I watched a YouTube Video by forum member Andres where he modified a Leatherman Squirt to accept a magnetic bit adapter. I decided to try the same modification with my Super Tinker. I carefully filed down the "hump" a bit on the larger flat blade driver.
I did not have to change the tip of the blade. Once filed down, I used a Gerber Magnetic Bit Adapter that fits nicely over the driver blade. I can now use any screwdriver bit needed for my light duty jobs. A plus, I can also use a 1/4" socket adapter for driving small nuts. Let me know what you guys think.

Can we see the driver without the adapter on it, just to see how skinny it is? There was something similar done by... don't remember, but he left the opener as is, and packed quarter inch bit adapter with jb weld to get similar results. This might just be a better option, as the driver can go into a deeper hole on it's own if it's been narrowed any significant degree.

Here's a photo of the modified flat blade. Most of the filing was done just above the nail nick. The nail nick can still be used. I did not have to modify the tip of the blade so the blade can still be used for it's intended purposes
The magnetic bit adapter fits corner to corner under the squared part of the adapter and slides back to meet the magnet. There is no movement whatsoever and the fit is very secure.
I also modified a Leatherman Squirt and a Leatherman Kick for this same adapter. I've considered making this same mod to my SAK (Trecker) however the flat blade is wider and would take more filing to make the mod work. I don't want to destroy the Trecker's flat blade with this mod.

Sorry about the poor picture but I really wanted to post my first Alox mod. I have been carrying a similar knife that I put together in cellidor for a few months and really like it for EDC in the pocket. I carry a Classic on my keys so I never missed the TP or tweezer. I finally found an experienced (used) red Alox Cadet to donate the scales so I diassembled it and put this together. I really like this knife and wish Vic or Swissbianco would produce the Voyageur again since I missed out the first time around!!
