A use for some old scales. I broke my casing for my flash drive so I made this out of some damaged scales.

If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

Sorry about the poor picture but I really wanted to post my first Alox mod. I have been carrying a similar knife that I put together in cellidor for a few months and really like it for EDC in the pocket. I carry a Classic on my keys so I never missed the TP or tweezer. I finally found an experienced (used) red Alox Cadet to donate the scales so I diassembled it and put this together. I really like this knife and wish Vic or Swissbianco would produce the Voyageur again since I missed out the first time around!!
That's a nice first mod. Welcome to the forum.

Nice mod :tu: and it'd be cool if the factory would make these but as they no longer make the 84mm scissors I can't see it happening :(
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

This was a gift from a buddy from UK, member of the britishblades community, few years ago.
He made the scales. This SAK has served me very well and is still going strong.
It’s always in the car and sees a lot of use. It recently saved the day in the office. We celebrated with wine and pizza and the corkscrew made me a hero.

The same buddy recently made me a leather sheath and a kydex hanging clip for my red farmer.

I was just thinking of making a leather sleeve for my Vic Classic about an hour ago...uncanny!

I have an old Chesterfield was wondering what to make out of the scrap leather.

Brillant idea to show of the symbol with the location of the hole, thats very classy!

Why not make your own?

Well its not cheap but you could make a lot of scales from it to make up the difference

You guys are awesome! Can I play? These liners are 6al4v titanium and the pins are 3al2.5v titanium. The end pins are 1/8" and hollow but it's very heavy wall tubing and titanium so I think it'll hold up fine. The outer scales are 1/8" thick ti and I still need to cut that screwdriver recess on the back. It's a work in progress but I'm getting there. I have ti liners and various scales for about 8 different SAKs going in my shop right now.

Liner lock for OHT cut from .062 titanium with a jewelers saw. Not sure why they make the cut wavy like that but I decided to follow suit.

Various scales in orange G10, carbon fiber and titanium.

Cutting the small blade spacer from titanium.

Yes, I'm going to be doing a lot of these, as well as producing titanium SAK liners for the folks that want to make their own.

Thanks Steve. I almost forgot the first one I got back together and working, a little classic with .050" ti liners and 3al2.5v pins. The G10 scales are not mounted yet because I still need to inlay the shield, round the edges and cut the channels for the toothpick and tweezers. I'm actually going to use some of my titanium scrap to make new toothpick and tweezers for this one. Being as how he's so small I think he needs something a little special up his sleeve.
