Thats going to look nice when you've done  :tu:

How about using epoxy glue to glue the brass on to the scales?

Thank you.  Scales are off to powder coat black.

I tried the epoxy this morning and all good.  will clamp on real scales.  Hoping the epoxy does not have any reaction with the brass.

I don't think you will have a problem with the brass

A couple of Epoxy glue tips which might be of use to Modders

Make sure the parts to be glued are clean of grease and 'roughed' up a little

I have had glue fail when grinding as the metal has got warm, so don't let heat build up in your work (had a BBQ poker handle I'd made come off once   ::) )

But this does mean if you need to take something apart that has been glued heating it with a hair drier or by placing it in boiling water should help  ;)
Everything’s adjustable

Good work on the Vagabonds. How do you like peening on 58mm alox?   :pok:

meh, peening 58mm is easy... IF you have a very small hammer, a concave face punch just the right size and three hands.  If you don't have these... not so easy. but doable with care and patience.

With the help of my tools, it's quite easy. I don't peen with the hammer directly anymore.

How do you use those tools?  Is the hammer blow straight up and down as hitting nail?

Exactly. Every tool has an end like a giant nail. So i allways hit them straight from above. I can use less hits, than my cautious tapping just with the hammer itself. The probability of damaging the scales is reduced to a minimum. Which is the biggest advantage from my point of view.

Picked up a few reasonably priced mods, first up a nylon Yeoman:

Plus an Alox executive (the rivets need a little TLC though):

Been waiting a while for these models, I look forward to them!

#25 Glow Ranbler getting ready to ship out.

Was i the first to atonewash Vic tools....don't know.  I'll always love the worn look over the polished off the shelf knives.

It's been a fun journey.

Thats a big boy! :D  Do you find the clip still usable with it that wide?  I think past 3 layers a clip isnt the greatest, but some people still want it.

good question.  I was in such as rush to ship it that I did not even try the clip.  Personally I would go sheath with something that wide.  The customer did request a clip though.

As a bonus, now I know a 6 layer is possible.  I would love to put together a 93mm monster.

A true monster in 93mm would be an expensive exercise.
Building one knife with all the tools available on that size.
For this you'd need knives with marlinespike and technician screwdriver. Plus a Harvester and Electrician.
Then track down a Settler for the small clip point blade.
 oh the time and dollars.

Marlinspike, got it.
Harvester and Electrician, check.

Now for the technician, someone did outbid me on the last one I tried for on the bay.  They only outbid me by 100.00!!  Perhaps a fake one grinded from a can opener will have to work as a stand in.

I know, its crossed my mind, but I cant do it!  I do have a technician and the old settler blade too.  Kind of saving those for something special though.

The biggest alox I did was a 7 layer.

Oh no see it has the keyring, you just attach it to your keys! NO problem. :D

This was for a collector who requested a really big mod.  Im pretty sure its sitting on a shelf in his collection and isnt carried. :D

Nothing goes to waste.  A broken glow liner is turned into a birds head spacer.  This will become standard in all of my personal builds.  There is also a black g10 liner in there.  Will be testing those out on a personal build soon.

Some new features

Glow birds head.  This idea came fron a mistake but I am still pleased with it.  Much happier than the liners.  Less is more.
G10 liners

and more of same

Stonewash
Powdercoat scales

I added a few more pics. :D

I need to source some new scales for it though as these were taken off and put back on one too many times. The attachment point at the phillips isn't holding too good anymore. But I like those scales as they came from my first ever SAK so I might just add a drop of rubber cement there and keep them. ;)

That makes it even more special with those scales.  I would probably just go with the rubber cement to keep them :)

I'd thought you'd vote for yellow evogrip. ;)

It's now as close to the Wenger Yeoman as I can make it.
