How does it look closed?
Nice! Are the modern tools compatible with this old models?
Super glue maybe. Never really tried to glue the shield done. A clear epoxy might work too.sent from Nate's mobile
I am leaning towards epoxy, as Super Glue can have sometimes a nasty effect on some plastics.
Any idea for red?Paprika?

Simple candle soot makes a great black epoxy, I used it with very good result to fix black vic scales. It's a matter of find different substances for different colors. Any idea for red?Paprika?
Decided to join the forum after doing a search for modified SAKs.This thread has so many great modifications and there's clearly many talented people on this forum!!Picked up my first Alox a few weeks ago and have found the Cadet and Farmer to be very useful. After seeing some of the mods over at EDCF, I decided to try a few of my own mods.I started with a standard 58mm classic and added the blade from a Spyderco Honey Bee, a clip from a Zebralight SC52, and a green tritium locator under the clip. Also made the brass scales and liner.Looking forward to working on an 84 and 93mm that I stripped down and started brass scales and liners for next. Anyway, heres a fews pics. Still have a lot of work to do to complete it, but it works.Looking forward to seeing more mods from you talented and creative people!(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.).
Thanks guys and it's nice to be here! Hoping to learn more and be able to add to the forum.
What about taking a scale exactly like the one you are trying to epoxy-match, and creating a bunch of perfectly-colored powder by dremelling it to death with a sanding cylinder?
Welcome aboard! That is a nice and original mod you did!I´m looking forward to more. And btw, I like the picture background with teh stamped 58 mm!
