Did someone ask for a pinned one to be different from everybody else?  :pok:

I would understand this. Because pined is much nicer than screwed  :pok:   :D

But those are all very nice  :tu:

I wasn't happy with the way the Saw layer and Scissors layer were in my Old Red Farmer Plus. The saw blocked the nail nick on the scissors.

So, out came the drills and hammers...

Also decided to knock things up a notch in the cutting stakes...

Behold, the Electrician Plus Plus.   Or should that be Electrician Plus2

That's a very nice arrangement. I've never owned anything with an electrician's blade but that's very tempting

A friend of mine did this, not his first SAK mod, but his first Alox. He is not that happy with fit/finish  (retired engineer) but I think it is very good.

I think it looks great. Maybe there are small details that he  think he could have done better.
It is a good thing though because if you think product is can not be improve then you won't have a truely great product.

The blanks for the scales were already drilled for a knife with backtools.
They were spare so I just used them for this. The brass looks nice against the ebony so I don't mind it.
This knife was just a quick build, as much a proof of concept as anything. I really should have made brass liners for it too.

I ruined any collector value for this one, but on the other hand, it will be my perfect EDC work knife. I think I'm done with it finally. Started out life as a Master Road Tour, replaced the scales with black nylon T&T, then carried it for a while. Kept thinking it wasn't what I wanted for some reason. ??? I then took the back tool pin out to swap in a corkscrew and a sewing eye awl, and installed new red nylon scales (thanks Alexei!) also with T&T, and finished with a red lanyard attached with 58mm split ring. It's now ready for duty. :salute:

Sad thing. 2x 3mm and 1x2.5mm would have been the non plus ultra to me. In that case, my Sea Ranger would have gone pivot...  ;)

I modded a Victorinox Harvester, swapping the main blade for a genuine Victorinox grafting blade. The creation's name: Horticulturist (my profession).
BTW, I decided to use the standard pivot bolts, non-recessed into the scales, as I like the "extra" protection to the scales' finish when in contact with flat surfaces (the bolts protrude over the scales), and more grip to the handles (or so I think).

Very Cool. How is the snap of this blade and is there any play?

If I'm correct, those grafting blades have larger pins inside. Did you do anything with the large pin hole?

Thanks guys!

HankSolon: The snap is pretty good, and I am pleased with it. Indeed the pin hole is slightly larger in the florist and grafting blades (I think it is 3.5 mm ), but since I used enlarged holes to accommodate the 1/8" pivots (3.175 mm) I do not perceive any play. I had to "graft" a stop on the backspring to adjust the blade rest when folded, as otherwise it will hit the front end, and the nail-nick will be hidden (below the scale line).

Robert (Syph007): Thanks to your crafty skills and your sharing of information on this forum I attempted this my second modification on an alox knife (this 93 mm "Horticulturist"). The first one, which I have yet to show here, is an 84mm cadet, where I just replaced the blade and installed 1/8" pivots. I still have a couple of 93 alox knives to modify, to suit my "rotating" EDC needs and work-related activities (I badly need one yeoman-like; I do use the magnifying glass quite a bit). The custom one you made for me is too beautiful as to yet venture to use it at work  :D

Thanks again for all your postings and sharing of info on this forum.

Raul
