Taking a page out of Dutch_Tooler's book, I was going to build a mega 93mm SAK...... I mean, I actually did it, however, I'm not sure about keeping it like this... The same way I don't see myself EDC'ing a Swiss Champ on a regular basis, I'm also having difficulty to wrap my head around EDC'ing this build. It came out bigger than I'd like it to be, even if it has all the tools I wanted it to have.I'm considering the possibility of splitting it in 2 smaller ones, 1 with the absolute necessary tools to keep in my person at all times, and 1 with the remaining tools to keep in my backpack. I know... It defeats the purpose of building it in the first place... Decisions, decisions...(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)Sent from my Redmi Note 5

Completed the rebuild of these 4 little guys with screws instead of brass/nickel pivots.(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)Sent from my Redmi Note 5

Do the screws hold the scales firmly in place ?
Very nice FlnixNOver As for EDCing the 93mm, yeah, well, er... mine is a tad heavy and I'm sure yours is too (what with two main blades). I do occasionally pocket it though. Such as today (by pure chance).

I'm still tweaking mine, as in, not 100% completed yet.By any chance, do you have pictures of the modding you've made to the Phillips layer spring? Mine is a bit loose, and I'm wondering where I should have taken less material...Sent from my Redmi Note 5
Great work samek! Love it

Yesterdays work:Pioneer X + Pioneer 2018 limited edition + wood saw from 111 mm model, modifyed + little blade from 91 mm model + homemade stainless bail. Tip of woodsaw is shaped to be a nailcleaner. Two big blades are a standard for »my« SAKs.Samek

You used a main blade spring for this layer right?Maybe the tools you used are from an older model, without the weird shape in the Phillips...This is what I did to mine, but I took too much unfortunately... (Image removed from quote.)Sent from my Redmi Note 5Hmmm... Pretty sure I took something off the Phillips and maybe the magnifier, but I left the spring alone (yup, a main blade spring). One should generally beware of grinding the springs as these are heat-treated for hardness, and the heat treatment dissippates when you apply heat again, such as when grinding. This might explain the loss of tension too. In any case the surface will now not be as hard as originally, and the Phillips will probably cause wear on the spring's surface.
I put this in its own thread. But I would make more sense here. It's a custom for my dad. It's a compact with a upgraded 20,000mcd led and screwdriver.
This is the only other pic I took. I'll have to do more next time.
