I did not even know it was there   thanks zoidberg
Hey guys - Thanks for the various links above - that are available as standard
Not quite the stats as per my original request...
But you can find out quite a bit of stuff just by playing around with those links - Eg:
  • About 850 people have made greater than 50 posts in the last 8 years
  • There are tons of people who have made no posts at all (I gave up counting the pages!). This is really strange surely the only reason to join is to post, otherwise you just lurk !!
Good luck with the next 258 Detron - But dont forget the target may increase too over time!!

it has not changed in the past 2 months, so, I should be OK.  plus I have been very prolific lately, which is speeding things up quite a bit

Congratz, best place to be, because we all know what is on page 3 ;)
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

Two more questions:

- What's the highest single donation MT.O has ever received?

- What's the highest monthly total in donations MT.O has ever received?

And another:

What happens when we get so much over, like in this month? How much does it cost to run the site and are we running at a deficit if donations only reach 100%?

I don't recall what's the difference, but I know for many forums, you can't see the B/S/T board unless you are a registered member, is it the case being here?

Two more questions:

- What's the highest single donation MT.O has ever received?

- What's the highest monthly total in donations MT.O has ever received?

The highest single donation the site has received I think is from Metropolicity, who regularly donates $50.  I will have to check to be sure, but I think he has the honor of the highest donation made, so if you like this forum, go buy a Skinth!   :pok:

The highest total I think is this month so far.  We have doubled the goal a couple of times in the past, usually when the prize is a Syph007 modded SAK, but I think this month so far is the top, and there's still a couple of days left.

And another:

What happens when we get so much over, like in this month? How much does it cost to run the site and are we running at a deficit if donations only reach 100%?

What happens when we get so much over?  Simple- it gets added to what I call the Defender Web and Tool Operational Fund, which is what we use to fund projects like the Challenge Coins, shirts and any other projects that may need to be addressed.

What does it cost to run this site?  Simple- more.  The Goal is set at the absolute minimum we need to keep the lights on, because I hate pestering people for money.  For years this site was funded almost completely out of my pocket but it ended up being too much for me to manage and so we had to go this route.  This helped greatly because not only did we cover the (increased) server costs, we were also able to look into funding other projects.  The more money the site brings in, the more projects we can undertake- such as the 2014 Challenge Coins, and we also have another project in the works right now that will involve a bit of an investment, but I think will be remarkably cool.  I'll get into that later on, when it's a bit closer to happening.  :D

Another question from me (awkward smurf I know):

Now it's not to the end of anniversary month, did Gerber not donate anything? There were things from people I'd never heard of (so that's done a good job!) but seemingly nothing from one of the major players?

Maybe I was just being dense.

well, if you keep posting like you did in july, then you have 7.8 months to go.

by your daily average, 500 days (ish)

Gerber did not respond to my invitation, however they are not the only major player who didn't.  Luckily we have some good friends who deal in some of the products from the major players who didn't respond, so we managed to give a few of their items away anyway.  :D

As for the guys you never heard of, that's a large part of what their participation is all about so take a moment and visit their Web pages, FB groups etc and be sure to thank them for coming out this year. That will encourage them to come out next year again, as well as helping to get a few more groups out next time.  After all, we do have a whole month to fill up!

I spent some time in the Members List

here are some stats,  understand they are inclusive, so a user with over 1000 posts is still counted in users over 100 posts.

If I can help, let me know

Are you sure? Because if they're inclusive, the numbers don't add up...

I did not count the THOUSANDS of users with 1 through 9 posts. that might be the missing numbers

Cool, so there's actually more people posting very few posts than there are not posting at all...

That kinda makes sense, actually

so there are 2070 people with a post count of 1-9

if 2 people with 9 posts made a post, (between when  I started and when I finished) they may have been counted as 9 and the n later as 10 posts
