Not exactly outdoors.....
on: July 05, 2014, 03:26:50 PM
But I was halfway through making breakfast when the power went out so out came my Coleman stove to finish bacon and pancakes!

I love hurricanes sometimes!  The smell of breakfast on a propane stove brings back memories of camping as a kid. I love it!

That's some tasty looking bacon you have there.

Speaking of bacon, I was heating some precooked up earlier and something caught fire in our microwave! I stopped it and removed the toasted debris but now the smell is just aweful  :ahhh

Love it and great stove.  You are never far from a hot meal when you have a portable stove on hand  :tu:

Nice, I've had to do that before, that's another reason I always liked having a gas stove, could always cook! Couldn't see that great with just a oil lamp, but hey there's always outside on the grill, yet that's normally the reason why no power in the first place, thunder storm,, JR

Arthur got you guys huh.  That sucks. :(  We have a small propane grill stashed for such occasions. It's come in handy twice in the past three years.....

Yeah I would have rather used it outside but as the wind is around 80-100kph (50-60mph) right now I figured that was a no go.

Agreed! I was planning to cook up some steaks late this afternoon for me and the misses. I have plenty of lump charcoal for the Weber One Touch and 2 tanks of propane for the Weber Spirit...

But I think I'll stay inside where it's nice and cool and smoke out the house frying them up in my cast iron skillet.  :D

The power came on shortly after I did the dishes. I thought about leaving them until the dishwasher was ready again, but if I did the power would have been out for days!  :P
