I came here knowing I wanted a multitool, but unsure what to buy. I had a hand me down PST for a long time, but outside of that, had no idea to the variations offered. Before joining, I bought a Wave on impulse as it was (is) the most popular amongst the bunch around interwebs based on overall opinions.

After coming here, I learned more about multitools and what each offers. I learned the Rebar is more to my liking, followed by the Bigfoot-esque Spirit S model.

My EDC will remain my EDC, that's it. Maybe a couple of different pieces. Example, I would like a Swisschamp and a ST300 in the collection. Overall though, my Rebar and Vic Compact fill my desire for daily carry pocket tools. The knife fever has been really what's hit, more so than multitools.

I stick around here primarily because out of all the forums I mostly lurk and sometimes post, this is the most fun and friendly bunch of all. :)

Although until this forum I had no desire at all for a new watch, now I have a G Shock on the way.  :mail:

Also, this forum provides a more general approach to discussing not just multitools, but gear in general. Something for everyone at MT.org and no elite attitudes to deal with. Just a friendly bunch of enablers and gear whores who are passionate about their hobbies.

Pretty Collection but no 130mm and no  :ahhh SPIRIT :ahhh

:pok: :pok: :pok: :pok:

I did have this one that you sent me (on the right)  but I had a friend who had his knife stolen, and he was very upset, it was a knife his father gave him, and his father is no longer with us.  so I paid it forward, I see it at work every week, and it is in good hands.

I loved that knife, but he needed that knife
Always good to pay it forward. And knifes are meant to be used... However, that was a 120mm not a 130mm :pok:

Nice to see you've shown restrain.

You know you don't need mother -of-pearl (but isn't it shiny!).

You know you don't need stag. (but don't it feel marvelous in the hand!).

You know you don't need horn (but aren't the patterns intriguing!).

  you are right  I guess that is why it was hard to find in SAKWiki!  I was in the wrong area!

but yes, I thought he needed it, and though it did not make him forget his fathers knife, he now does no dwell on it as much.

and thanks again!  I loved the biscuits and chocolates!!   not to mention the lanyard is on my Pioneer.  :tu:

yes sir,  that Charge AL is great,  my only complaint about the Charge AL or ALX is the fact that the fasteners are not recessed like they are on the TTi.
it is not a big deal, until you struggle getting it out of a sheath.  I know you pocket carry, but for me it can be annoying some times.

HOWEVER, if that is my only complaint,  I would say that this tool is 99% perfect.

That is a valid complaint though.  Even though I do pocket carry, the knurled screw affects how well the pocket clip fits/rides.  The TTi works better for this due to the recessed screw.

I was considering an AL but this is enough reason to pass. I'd like to know that if I were so inclined it would clip properly in my pocket.

That's too bad man.  Do you ever pocket clip carry?  It is a significant difference though, especially if that's the preferred method of carrying it.

I would be happy even if they were tapered up to the top instead of the quick 90 turn up

That would help I would think.  The texture of the knurled screws probably doesn't help either.  They easily catch on things I've seen.

in my mind I picture a plastic shallow volcano that sits on the knurled screw and flares out about a half inch in all direction, for a gradual slope down.

DTs you have been busy mate  :D :D , its a slippery slippery slide mate  :ahhh :ahhh.

In my time I have manages to fill a 6 draw tool box(in my wardrobe  ::) :D), numerous tin boxes, 4 big plastic boxes, the top of the meat safe in the lounge , the kitchen cupboard above the fridge. The kitchen & lounge is always a potential UN hot spot on the domestic front  ::) :D.Reading the impending military mobilisation signs by the misses is imperative  ;) :D.

Now if i get rid of half my clothes I could put a 12 draw toolbox in my wardrobe  :P :D

I know what you mean.

I signed up here after losing my only Leatherman (a Kick) that I had for 5~ years. I had 2 SAKs at that point.

Now I have a dozen Leathermans, half a dozen SAKs and a few Gerbers... I'm supposed to be saving for a house!!! :P

But... they are cheaper than guns and cars!
