I'm I glad David I hope you keep enjoying it.

I got to put Mr Blunt to work on a few things today but I didn't get any in action pics.

We moved a double wide mobile home out in the country a few miles. I used Mr Blunt to strip and attach all the wires for the brakes and lights . i used his Phillips driver to open a battery cover so I could replace the dead batteries, his pliers to pull a few hitch pins , i also used his plane blade to cut down some boxes and cut some ground cover plastic.

I took a couple pics while I was taking a break from loading a trailer.
160 blocks total.

Another easy day for Mr Blunt.

I used his serrated blade to cut some plastic straps on the new ratcheting straps I put around some blocks on a trailer.

I spent most of the day driving flag car and guiding a truck with home home get backed into place x2 I did the same thing twice it was a double wide  :P

Mr Blunt's lack of tools is becoming a issue for me.

I can live without a awl, a saw, scissors and  file in my multitool but it means I have to carry more backup tools to support it.

I'm looking forward to my next review this Gerber leaves me wishing I was caring a better loaded tool.

Everything Mr Blunt has is built extremely well . I just wish there was more function to his form.

They could have ditched the can opener or lanyard hole for a saw. Could also swap the smallest driver for an awl.

They really should have.

Edit

Changed file to file with metal saw.

That is why I only carry modded Gerbers. None of their stock models have the tool loads I like.

Sounds like you might want to try a Diesel.  Sorry to say the file still lacks the 'saw' edge, but the can opener makes a passable awl, in fact it's a better awl than it is a can opener. :D

I should have known I wouldn't be all that happy with this tools lack of tools .

I wanted to try use the standard Gerber tool with hope's that it would grow on me. So far it hasn't.  It's a great tool but it's not for me.

I'm still going to finish this review until the end of 30 days.
It really is a good tool for what it's got and there is a few weeks left who knows maybe it will grow on me yet.

 I don't dislike it .

It's just lacking in a few areas.

Thanks Gareth!

Love the MP600 platform. The addition of some Diesel bits makes it pretty close to ideal for me. If it had the metal saw on the file, this thing would be perfect.

I can live without a awl, a saw, scissors and file in my multitool but it means I have to carry more backup tools to support it.

Just to keep it real here, that's a pretty substantive downside when there are plenty of other MTs on the market that give you all of those tools in one package.  I carried a Diesel today, and though it adds tools that the MP600 lacks (saw, scissors, etc.), it too is lacking a metal saw (serrated edge on the file) and awl.  Someone above said that the Diesel's can open makes a good awl, and that's true - it is sharp and pointy for reaming holes and whatever.

The blade deployment is not great either, as all of the cutting edges are on the inside of the tool, if that makes sense, so the handle can get in the way when using the saw, blades, etc.

I like the Gerber lineup, and enjoy carrying them occasionally.  And I love to just sit there and play with the plier deployment. But I would like to see Gerber take it one step further and give us an MP600 that has it all, including wood saw, metal saw scissors and awl.  I'm not totally familiar with every variant, so maybe it already exists.  Just my take from the sidelines. Rock on.

And I love that Toolslinger-flavored MP600.  That's what we need.  Are you listening, Gerber?  :)

The Pro Scout would come close. With the exchangeable blade feature you can put in a wood saw or a hack saw blade, it has scissors, file, and pretty much everything else desireed except an awl. It is my favorite of the Gerber MT's. I have sever Gerber 600's, but my ST300 is still my favorite and gets pretty much all the carry time.

Although it's still missing an awl, that a Gerber tool I'd give an honest chance.

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob
