This made me wonder myself what the most bury proof MT is. I would have to say pst. It's so simple and when closed it's basically a sealed metal box.

Look I love my PSTs dearly, but a 600 will beat it hands down in terms of dumb smurf abuse!

I've been wondering over an analogy for the OHT, and I'm tempted to go for AR15/M16, but if some one would lend me a Kalashnikov and an Armalite for direct comparison...

Although,in fairness,I should point out, whilst I'm not taking offence at that....

So it was buried for three days.

I could be buried for three days, and other than being cranky and stinky and really thirsty, I'd be ok.

I'm sure I could find a beater SAK, bury it, and pull it up in six months, and see what really happened. Of course, I'd have to unpack my SAKs and then NOT forget to dig it back up. But the next months put us into the middle of winter... a year?

Tempting, tempting, tempting.

If i could afford to put a mp600 unerground for a year i would as think a year test would prove rust issues but this was just a test too see how it   copes clogged up with dirt  :tu: i think it did very well, ive used it down the beach and other than the cruntching it worked fine,

Just yesterday I used the frame and Plier head of my MP 600 to hammer in 3 small nails - I had to repair an old Mailbox in on of the houses I maintain and the hammer would fit inside with no room left to move.
Enough heft from the weight to drive the nails in, no damage done to the tool.

Does this qualify me as a dumb smurf?  :D

And I really do like that the tool will keep on working even after you drop it in the dirt on a roadside in the rain - Mr. Pinchy saved my butt (ok, it did help repair a broken clutch cable on my Yamaha, but in the end, that´s the same)

Ive used my mt as a hammer many times thomas so no not dumb just saves walking and getting a hammer   :D my best save was when at the girls birthday party down the park ,one of my nephews works on the bins and had a key to open the bins ,we tied red ribbons around the 2 black bag's that had there presents in,well we all cleared up but someone? Put one with a ribbon in the bin  we got home and devistation hit once we noticed ,me and my niece drove back to the park, luckily the bag was onto of the bin but it was locked bqck in its metal housing, well out came my trusty swisschamp and i slid its pliers closed into the slot and pop the door opened,mt saves the day  :salute: but like the hammer story i used the pliers not as pliers:D mt/SAK are multipurpose tools  :salute:

Well couldnt wait any longer  :ahhh
Foiled yet again!  :twak: :twak:

My Rebar is awesome but it's no AK47. I'm 99% sure that if a spec of dirt were to get into it, it would jam up the whole works.  ::)

Mine has held up really well, trashed at work for months and still works fine.
