Can someone please enlighten me on the link between 'El Morado' and purple.
I looked up El Morado and found out it is a National Park in Chile??
I like to understand these things  :D

Morado is Spanish for purple.

Pretty obvious really  ??? .... If you know Spanish  :D
And lots of Spanish speakers in the US - Especially Texas - So a good choice
I guess that National Park in Chile has a purple haze - Just like our Blue Mountains in Australia have a blue haze!

Some not so usual color synonyms in Spanish (as used in south Texas and Northern Mexico)

Morado (or Púrpura)= Purple
Colorado (or Rojo)= Red
Azulado/Azul = Blueish/Blue
Azabache (derived from an arab word)= Brilliant Black
