Can anyone age my climber?
on: June 22, 2008, 09:53:18 PM
My recent purchase of a climber requires a birthday set for it .It has no hook the scissors have a screw securing them apart from that I can't see much difference from late lamented climber that some dirty rotten S.O.B  lifted from me
Cheers

Am I correct in thinking that it has the older style corkscrew?  If so, this makes it pre-1991.

What is written on the blade?
I'm back!!

The main blade has officier suisse on one side and victorinox switzerland stainless rostfrei on the other and yes it has the fluted corkscrew on it

If it has plastic tipped tweezers and we assume they are original to the SAK, that narrows it down to 1978-1985.

I had totally forgot about mentioning the hole in the awl and the lack of a hook when I sold it.

I'm afraid. I'm afraid, Dave. Dave, my mind is going. I can feel it. I can feel it.   :D

Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do.
I'm half crazy, all for the love of you.
It won't be a stylish marriage,
I can't afford a carriage,
But you'd look sweet
Upon the seat,
Of a bicycle built for two.

You got it, and you really should check out 2001 sometime.

A serious science fiction movie co-written by a great writer:  Arthur C. Clarke.

2001 stands head and shoulders above the crappy to mediocre sci-fi movies Hollywood grinds out these days:
-the Star Wars series (first two were decent)
-the Star Trek movies (one, maybe two were decent)
-Spielberg sci-fi movies (Jurassic Park was decent)
-all of those lame comic-book movies

The only recent Hollywood sci-fi movies that were exceptional IMHO (although technically not sci-fi) was Tolkien's LOTR trilogy.

It's still hard for me to believe Hollywood completed the whole Lord of the Rings trilogy without screwing it up.  Not only did they not screw it up, it was amazingly well done.
