I made a PSK knife from a broken folder. What do you think?

I had an old Frost Cutlery knife laying around, that had a broken lock on it, and decided to do something creative with it.

This is similar to the knife I started with.

It was a very easy project. I took the knife apart, to get to the blade. I used a rough file to file down the last half inch or so of edge, and wrapped paracord for a handle. It has 440C steel, and actually takes a decent edge. What do you guys think?

I have done this with a few other cheap broken folders, if you guys would like to see those as well.

I think that is a clever re-purposing of an otherwise broken tool. I would be concerned about two things in actual use, however:

How comfortable is the "handle", even with the paracord wrap?
Given the way the whole thing tapers toward the point, I would be worried my fingers might slip down onto the sharp portion of the blade.

ive got 2 larger sized folders that have broke locks so ill give this ago

I was worried about using it safely myself. I ended the paracord wrap in a fixed loop, that my pinky and ring finger fit into perfectly. This pretty much keeps my hand from moving forward by too much.

I think a better way to go at it would be grinding down the hollow ground portion under wrap, so you have a physical barrier to keep your fingers safe. Then if you so desire it would be easy to make a small hardwood handle. Looks like the pivot is still intact, so you can even put a pin through it.
