Thanks everyone! Believe it or not, 6 years ago I couldn't see any reason I would want an Alox SAK. That first red Cadet hooked me good.

Before being on here I thought Alox’s weren’t even victorinox, but then I ended up getting a pioneerX and a farmer for edc, yet after they came out with a farmerX it’s the only thing I’ve carried since,,

You said it! Only a few years ago I was telling myself, "there's no reason I need an Alox Swiss Army Knife. Now I have 25 just in the 93mm size. The Alox bug bites hard.

They are addicting.

I tried the celidor, and the more I used alox, the more the cellidor felt...for lack of a better word...lacking.  I love the bomb proof feel of the alox.

Yeah really, all I ever had was a norm sak, but then I just had to try a alox, now five later and one which is a custom,,

Looks like someone really enjoyed carrying and using that one! Is it the sort of gold Alox?

The Alox bug bites hard.
It infected me pretty good, but I've since discovered that I like the way a 111mm carries. Does anyone make Alox scales for the 111mm?

Swiss Bianco does:

There are also a bunch of 111mm aftermarket scales on ebay and etsy in other materials.  Most come from China, so the tariffs will probably impact them.

:hatsoff: The SwissBianco scales would be great if they offer some with no pocket clip. And I'm scheming a workaround for the China/tariff thing...

Gorgeous!  Nice setting too.

I was at my local pocket knife club meeting last night and I took my Synergy and Synergy X.  My buddy there, who is not really a SAK guy, couldn't believe how cool they were.  I took his reaction as a good barometer of how the pocket knife buying public will react to Vx's new product line.

I don’t think any of the 93mm companion alox have a key ring.

Ok, I got a question,,
This is my must have, a FarmerX, it’s the only thing I’ve carried since I got it when it first came out, the only thing it doesn’t have that I would like is a nail file.. so, what if I was to do this that someone else modded? My only thing is I don’t have a tap/die set, yet I do have JB-Weld, I should have a file, so here’s the question, do you think this would have to be done via tapped, or do you think the weld would work? Do you think the weld would keep the file attached or do you think the file would just fall off and leave the weld just filling in the Alox?

I think it can be done with the right adhesive, but not sure if JB Weld is it, as epoxy can be brittle when cured, and if you drop the knife on concrete or something like that it may not hold. I had a SAK with aftermarket titanium scales that I used some JB on, and they came off in similar circumstances.

I have used Nite Ize HipClips on a couple of Alox SAKs with good results. These attach using 3M VHB adhesive which is very strong and retains a sort of rubbery / tarry consistency. They have held on rock solid for several years. When I came to remove one of the clips recently it was quite a job to get it off and then remove the adhesive residue from the scale!  I would suggest using something like that.

You mean like this,, I had some double face tape but I think I just finished the last of it putting the dog bag holder on the back of the house, but yeah if it was anything like that 3m stuff like on those clips, I’d think that would hold,,
