Yeah, much like that. Different clip but the adhesive looks similar, I see that like me you found out how much fun it is getting that stuff off Alox scales. I think it took me about 15 minutes to remove all traces.

The tape that comes to mind I know as 3M RED, available in different widths.  It is a double sided adhesive tape used in the automotive industry for attaching side moldings on cars.

I found mine at a O’Rielys auto parts store. Imagine many like stores would have on the shelf.

PS:   Knowing you use Amazon, I searched and the River site has multiple width’s and type of 3M red.
Avoid the FOAM type.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

It's been a stable of Victorinox soooo long that I can't conceive of a SAK with no keyring. Like the alox bantam, the lack of a lanyard/keyring attachment is a deal breaker for me. For a slim EDC knife/tool, I would think a keyring attachment would be automatic because of the nature of the beast.

On the 93mm companion line, they removed the blade layer which is the layer that contains the key ring spacer.  I think they probably hit the "easy button" there, as to add the key ring to the opener or scissor layer would require an extensive redesign.

Very valid points.  But also worth noting that it's not unusual for 93mm Alox knives to be key ring free.  Looking at models in current production other than the new Companion and Synergy ranges, there's no key ring on the Swiss Army 1, Swiss Army 2, Swiss Army 7 or Electrician. Basically Pioneer and Farmer models have them, others don't. I've no idea what logic governs this.

I would love to have the skills to make something like this. However, experience has taught me when wood and I get together nothing ever comes out square.
My wife says I'm acute guy but I can sometimes be obtuse.  :hatsoff:
