Limited Edition alox colors has always been the Pioneer, Cadet and Classic... Damascus for 2018 is the Deluxe Tinker (judging from the pics)

Shame they don't widen the range. Oh well, the bank account is safe for the moment. :D

The older red is even lighter.  Makes the PX look raspberry.

So I bought a red cadet for my whittling knife work in progress. Before I disassembled it I resurrected on how really awesome it felt. Now I need another cadet, this time to keep and use. I've been broke since start of December and I will be buying a used outrider come end of month but I really feel a need for another cadet. Does anyone have a cadet for sale? I'd like any colour but default!

Have you tried polishing that Pioneer X's blade to get rid of the weird text that's on it?
You should seriously visit vicfan.com. All the hoopy froods are doing it.

Thanks! It does whittling really well , no other folding tool has the opt-in to use anything like chisels except the schrade splinter (discontinued) and the dedicated Flexcut (expensive) so making my own knife out out Victorinox parts really has been a boon for my whittling endeavours !

Yeah, not done yet with the configuring (had a wood saw as fifth layer until recently, might remove blades to get down to three) so that is why I haven't started polishing the tools up yet

Just received a brand new Pioneer as a gift. Nice Knife.

Question: when the main blade is open, and I spin the knife to look at it from the backsprings and blade spine, my main blade seems to lean in to the left slightly.

Is that normal?

Yes it is... blade profile is made asymmetrical to allow for another tool in the same layer... It’s the same for 91mm and 84mm models...

Much more pronounced on the Pioneer than the 1970's Mountaineer I am comparing it to. But it sure doesn't affect its use.

Thanks Jaya
