Gerber AR

Anyone else have a Gerber AR? I myself have had a Gerber AR 3.0 fine edge for about three and a half years now. I've used it hard, but it's been such a great pocket knife.

Fan of the Leatherman mini-bit driver and the Vic backspring philips.

The Gerber AR series are great little knives!  I have the AR 3.0 with combo-edge black-coated blade.

EDCed it for several years and I still really like it.

Lightweight, compact, good fit and finish, strong, great ergonomics, and holds an edge well enough for me.  Plus, IMHO it's a really good looking knife.

Got it on sale at Lowes with a Gerber retractable pocket diamond sharpener included in the package - for 12 bucks!

That's gotta be about the best deal I ever got on a new knife.

Forgot to mention:

I went with the partially-serrated black blade because that's what Lowes had on sale - for 12 bucks!

I'd prefer the plain edge blade without the black coating and will pick one of those up when I see a good deal on it.

MSRP on these is 40 bucks or more.  I'd say a reasonable price for an AR3.0 would be 25 to 30 bucks, given the brutal competition among makers in knives of this price range.

20 bucks or less for an AR3.0 is a great deal IMHO.

Yeah, I love my AR 3.0! I think I spent about $30 on it.
