Around the Bucegi Plateau
« on: August 14, 2014, 06:11:27 PM »
My girlfriend (mountain goat that she is) convinced me to leave the cosyness of my office and go to the Bucegi plateau last weekend. I took some photos of my sak and I saw that you guys liked it, so I figured I'd post a few more photos from my day up high:

At the bottom of the cable-car: You didn't think I'd climb for 6 hours to get to the plateau, right?

Babele - The crones: A rather popular rock formation:

The Carpathian Sphinx - same (yeah, the little one is me):

Looking back on where I walked from:

Weather station gizmo:

Looking down:

My girlfriend went ahead to scout the way (she's the little dot on the ridge):

Me following the track through the clouds:

Whirly plant-thingy:

The TV transmitter (we were in the antenna tower) reflected onto the clouds:

And a few photos from my girlfriend's older hiking trips:

Chamois:

Edelweiss:

My girlfriend climbing:

My girlfriend chilling:

Interesting, first time I've seen an up close photo of edelweiss, they don't look like the printed version on Victorinox knives.  :ahhh

Ocasionally. She is pretty much up in the mountains every weekend. I have neither the time, skills or endurance to do the really tricky paths. I go with her about once or twice per month.

True. The current one is very stylized.

The older ones look more like the real thing, though
