Who else loves their micra??

I like my Juice S2, SC2, Skeletool CX, Wave, Pulse, Mini-tool, PSTs, Squirt P4s & S4s, but for some reason, nothing puts a smile to my face like the Micra.

Every time I see that Micra on my keychain, I am amazed by its simple design, compact size, durability, and super-robust tools. It was the first Leatherman I ever got (for $8 used on eBay) and brought me from the SAK world to respect LM.

I have about 6 new Squirt P4s and S4s, but I never EDC them anymore, and instead, I am attaching Micras to all my keychains.

You expect LM to make excellent big tools (like the SURGE!!!!!! a.k.a. Leatherman123's motto), but the Micra is what amazes me.

I do!

I use my Micra more than any other tool. It packs more tools in there than any other tool I can think of in that size (including SAKs). It is close to the perfect keychain tool IMO, and the tools are excellent quality.

My theory is that the Squirt range was intended to replace the Micra, but people wouldn't stop buying them, so they continue to make them. Long may that continue.

I have used a Micra for years. The other tools and knives I EDC have changed a few times over the years, but the Micra has yet to be replaced.

The Micra replaced the Victorinox Classic in my EDC.

My wife still carries a Victorinox Classic, Micra, Gerber EAB and a Swisstool Spirit.
That's not all she carries, but it's all that applies to this thread. She wants to be prepared.

I guess I should add that she carries the Vic Classic because it's purple and that's her favorite color. She also has a red one and had quit carring it.

Yea, it's almost painful to compare a Vic Classic to a Micra. I am a big SAK fan, but the Classic just looks meager compared to the Micra.

I think they both have thier uses. I've given family members both Micra's and Classic's. It seems they prefer the Micra, but there might be others that prefer the Classic.

The Photon II micro lights are popular too.

My EDC Micra was like that, although red not blue. So, I dropped it into a dish of Nitromors for a few minutes, swilled it under the tap, sprayed it with WD40 and now it looks great

heheh,my plier-micra is also really beat-up,worn tool as defenders one.i carry it on my keychain among keys,photon,4" adjustable wrench,4gt bullet proof memory stick(nope,its more like barrel shaped),and lucky charm hammer.it get a lot of use and it does marvelous job,considering its size.

Mine looks pretty good too, but my Micra is the non-colored stainless. There is no color to wear off.

I really, really like my Squirt P4, and so want to pick up an S4 at some point as well. There sure is a lot of Micra love here though.

What advantages does the Micra offer over the Squirt S4? What is the fundamental difference between the two?

For me, the difference is in the Micra's simpler, cleaner design. I also am not a fan of color anodized aluminum, like on the Squirts. I like the stainless steel exterior of the Micra and how it seems indestructable.

The Squirt has a "cool" factor for sure though. The Micra just seems more straight-forward in design and maybe a little "old school" in a good way.

Me! I switched from a Classic to a Gerber shortcut, then to Micra. tried out the SOG crosscut for a while after that, but found myself going back to the Micra. It's the tool I use the most. Love it.

How cheap could the Micra clone be? Micras (used) are found aplenty still for about $7-8 on eBay.

I love my multiple Micras , but is it just me or are the tweezers a bit like tits on a bull(a little useless

) My SAK tweezers are infinitely better.
