What is the most Heavy Duty Multitool made?

Leatherman and other brands if there is a HD tool other than a leatherman.

Looking for something big and nasty.

I'm looking for a tool that is made for hard jobs. Something that is designed to be abused.

Leatherman Surge and Supertool 300 both are heavy duty tools. They are different designs with somewhat different tool load.

Victorinox has Swisstool. Big, but nothing nasty in it. Just great workhorse.

Sog Blacktip really beats everything in its size. And it is just big and nasty.

Here is little size comparizon link of LM and Victorinox. http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,52662.0.html

Surge, ST300, Powerlock, Swisstool. Not sure about grebers line up. The MP 600 seem pretty rugged to me.

That's us mobile.

I don't think any tool is designed to be "abused".  They are designed to do a job, some are heavier duty than others.   Abuse it and it "bends" and you are at the mercy of the warranty.

The ones that were really built like tanks have mostly been discontinued:

Schrade Vise Grips LC6, Wenger Swissgrip, SOG Toolclip, LM Genus (am I thinking of the right one there ... )

But there's still Super Bear Jaws, Swisstool, Surge, ST300, MP600 ... one of which you've just got  ;)

To my mind the MP600 isn't as beefy as the larger Leathermans. It's as long but IMO the MUT/Surge/ST300 pliers seem stronger.

I would say if you have large enough hands, then any of the following would work for you:

ST300
MUT
Surge
SOG powerlock
Vic swisstool

I would personally go for the ST300 for my workhorse, except I can't stand the weight and my hands are just a tad too small for it.  I don't have little hands, it's just a huge tool.  I carry a rebar every day and I abuse the hell out of it.  It does everything I need.  I run a crew of Machinists so I am constantly having to fix huge machines that are covered in oil, coolant, and grease.  I regularly use the rebar's wire cutters to snip stringers of alloy steel that is 36rc, and they don't have so much as a ding in them.  I use the file every day, and the drivers see some prying.  The blades are always used, and the cutouts really help with access to the blades while wearing gloves.  My point is that the Rebar/ST300 style would be perfect.

Hand size is a big one actually - the MP600 is a lot easier to get your hands round than the ST300.
The ST300 is marginally better than the Core though.

Leathermans warrenty should be considered if your using the tool for heavy use.

You break something, they replace it. You can't beat that.

The super tool is a beast. I haven't used a surge.
