Typical amount of an Alox production run?

Anyone has an idea of the amount of knives that are churned out by Victorinox for a standard Alox production run? Thousands? Tens of thousands? More?
Lets take as example the new black with red shield Pioneer?
I am just curious..

Congrats on 1k, Patrick. Now go cause havoc in the NLC forum  ;)

As for current minimum order for a limited run ... :shrug:

I know Wenger had a 500 minimum, and think Vic had a 100 minimum on special cellidor/nylon scales,  but I don't know how many they require now after the no limited runs for ALOX decission last year.

'not enough' would be a good response.

You see, alox customers are a bunch of hungry pitbulls, while Victorinox doesn't cut enough steaks to feed them all...

So they nip at and fight eachother for the prize.

End result, a bunch of pissed off, disappointed dogs  ::)

Well if the yearly limited editions can be an indicator, last years "limited edition" was numbered to 7000. So my guess would be that a non limited edition needs to be way over that, whether alox, or celdor..

I talked to my favorite dealer and he said to get a run of alox in a certain color you need to order about 1000 knives.
The cutlery shoppe told me on face book that the orange run they had was 800 pieces.
