Are the blades in Victorinox plated or just polished?

They are just polished. Great quality steel.

Blades are made out of x55CrMo14 steel and hardened to 56HRC.

In one of the how its made episodes they show the vibratory tumbler Vic uses to polish all the SAK parts.  I remember they used cone shaped ceramics.

original saks are just polished but most of the fakes are plated.
