I feel a bit ashamed being mentioned a few times So Firiki is my choice.
Quote from: lowtech on August 25, 2014, 09:45:30 AMI feel a bit ashamed being mentioned a few times So Firiki is my choice. I said you're a nice guy, I didn't nominate you to win MY Farmer (or Cadet, or Farmer, or Cadet, or Farmer, or Super Tinker ... err smurf Farmer )
Where do I begin?...Lots of good deeds, towards me and others. This year's GAW list is almost 2 pages long. People win stuff and pass it along almost the same minute. Someone has a problem and there's always someone stepping up to help or offer a kind word. Folks send out gifts and remain anonymous (it's the giving that matters, not the "fame"). Wish I could nominate more than one person. I chose Swiss Man because of his generosity and because I haven't seen him around much. 003 - Tofty (Etherealicer)013 - kirk13059 - Nhoj068 - Freaver111 - scattergun13 (derekmac)128 - magentus136 - Swiss Man (pfrsantos)223 - JAfromMn (sawman)226 - captain spaulding333 - mrynnr500 - Toolslinger503 - Monrogue666 - firiki (lowtech)667 - powernoodle 777 - zoidberg900 - CorwynEtherealicer, the way YOU treat this list, I'd NEVER nominate you!!!! The Squad is watching!!!!
WTF dude!
Detron, what a nice GAW.I am wondering there are quite a few members I'd really like to thanks, can I put in more than one name onto this list?
I'm failing to understand how this works. I get the provide a story part, but do we add our own name to the list or the person we're referencing?

I chose to do it where you put your name, others decided they wanted to provide a name that was not theirs.so you can do it however you want

So if I were to choose you, it would be like this: 000 - WildJ3 (Freaver)
003 - Tofty (Etherealicer)013 - kirk13059 - Nhoj111 - scattergun13 (derekmac)068 - Freaver128 - Magentus223 - JAfromMn (sawman)226 - Capt. Spaulding333 - mrynnr500 - Toolslinger503 - Monrogue666 - lowtech667 - powernoodle777 - Breezy12 (zoidberg)900 - CorwynIt's really, really hard to pick just one person for this list!! I have to pick scattergun13 though, as Stew has been bombarding this place with such a pleasant and giving attitude. Thank you Stew, and thanks to Detron for offering up this great GAW.

I've been a forum lurker for years now, not just here, but random forums across the net. I rarely register as most communities are full of smurf heads and bad attitudes, that is until I discovered multitool.org. I've now posted more here in my short time than all other message boards combined over a 10 year time span.I noticed that people actually liked to be helpful to their fellow man (and woman) on this forum. From advice, to helping in purchases, to swaps, to deals, I had never seen such a tight knit community that looked after one another the way MT.Org does, all the while most folks have never seen each other face to face before. Everyone gathered on these boards due to common interest.I'm trying not to name names, as I feel the community as a whole is great, but Kampfer comes to mind on something that I noticed early on before I registered. In JAfroMn's Rebar/ST300 thread, he misplaced his Rebar (found later) and just to be nice, Kampfer sent him a replacement unit. How cool is that? It sparked my own generosity, motivating me to host a GAW and one member wasn't able to find a specific tool they wanted that a local shop of mine had for cheap, so I just picked it up and sent it their way. No strings attached, I figured the good karma would come back around in time.
I think the following line alone speaks volumes about the members on MTOI hear a lot of "he/she/they" did this or that, but you sure do not get a whole lot of "I did", or "But I gave xxxx"the mere fact that kind acts are not measured in dollar value, shows that the ACT is the cherished piece, not the physical item, and I LOVE that
