I know I should not complain about free shipping,  but when it was $7.95 FREE  UPS shipping, I was surprised to see that the ETA is next Thursday.

I know that is not that long,  but I am excited to get these
If I can help, let me know

Could either be because they take a few days to ship out or because it is Labor Day weekend. Might just be low priority shipping like Amazon does for there free shipping though I cannot imagine it being as slow as Amazons free shipping. I swear its like a punishment. I have literally had packages sit for 5-6 days before even leaving the warehouse.

Am I the only one thinking of getting one of each and swapping the black tools into the orange frame?

I thought about it. I believe Ashley has done exactly that. Looks excellent. I don't know why they did not do that as a factory offering in the first place.

I think it's just me so far, but I could be wrong. My knifeless "Fuse-ilier" mod .... again  :D

(Image removed from quote.)
aaahhh I want one!

OMG. That looks even better than it did in my head. :ahhh

Thanks to the expert-level enabling of Kampfer I have a pair on the way and soon after :mail: will have them in bits and a Orange/BO uber-Fuse assembled... to hell with warranty.  :multi:

Still in my cart , they're gonna be sold out before I get a chance to order one  :poh:.

I went a little overboard with PSTs this month, got 3... ok 4 (don't let my wife know), so the orange Fuse and the BO Blast will have to wait.

For now :D.

My co-worker (who has a Wave and Skeletool, but is not a member here   ) bought a Orange Fuse and a BO one.
he brought them in to work today, and said he wished they had the BO tools and pliers in the Orange body.

I told him they could be switched, it is just a mod, but it would void his warranty, and the Orange Fuse is not for sale anymore.

he told me if I do the swap, I could have the left over pieces.

Challenge accepted, and a mod coming soon.
If I can help, let me know

Cool  :tu:

I do like my Fuse-ilier mod, but stainless tools in a BO frame can look nice too  :)

Honestly, don't bother  :(

It was somehing I decided to try out, but it's a PITA to use. The bit driver doesn't fully lock, but the main issue is the pliers. As it stands with shorter bits, the plier head catches badly on closure, and when I tried with longer bits in, it stopped the tool closing fully. Makes for a nice pic, but really this is just a neat way of keeping spare parts together until I come up with a better way of using them  :D

OK,  the swap was not that bad,  would have been done in like 15 minutes if it was not for those :serverloft: washers that made me understand what frustration really is.

anyway, on to the write-up

so here are the factory tools

hard to see, but notice the different angles on the large flat drivers (I took a better angled photo,  but you could not see the silver one)

so I like using the engineer pliers, but I also like NOT scratching the body of the tools so I decided to try something new, and it worked fairly decently.

I used these

and put them on the end of the pliers like so

they wore out before I was finished, I just replaced them and it was all good.

here is the tear down results

so, I also wanted to switch the lock releases so that the Orange Tool had black insides and locks.

ALL DONE!!!!!

orange handles, with black tools, black pliers, black locks, and black knurled knobs.

AND the BO handles with all silver everywhere.

I think my coworker is going to be happy,  I am actually very happy with my "Hidden Shiny"
