Surefire E2E Executive Elite
on: August 07, 2014, 05:15:13 PM
I couldnt say no to this poor little light.  It was sitting all shiny in great condition so I took it home.  There is a "problem" however, the light is missing the lamp assembly .  I wonder why it was removed?  One of the surefire batteries was good the other wasn't.

I'm looking for a inexpensive( $25ish)  LED conversion or I may just go with the Xenon assembly I've quickly found that puts our 110lm.  Neat light and it would have been even better if complete.

Funny thing is I also scored (12) CR123 cells for .50c ea so for this light costing me $3, yes $3 flipping dollars I'm only in $9.

Unfortunately, there's not much available in drop-ins for the E-series, especially in your price range.  This is widely considered the best: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?358666-TNT-SingLED-modules-for-Surefire-incan-E-series

If it were me, I would buy a Valiant Concepts VME head to convert your E2E so that it is compatible with P60 drop-ins.  Then, you will have so many options it will make your head swim.

I read up a bit last night on CPF and a quick search LED ( pun intended ) me to Lumens Factory's HO-E2A ( incan ) for $13.  I also saw their replacement LED head for $55, 3 modes.

:tu: Thanks for the link I'll be sure to have a look at the VME head as well.  I guess "budget" can be pushed .  I have to rationalize not spending the dough on a ZL SC52 vs seeking upgrades to this light.

And here I was thinking I was rescuing this poor light.

The E2E is worth it, especially if you're only $9 in!

Buy this: http://www.malkoffdevices.com/malkoff-devices-flashlights/malkoff-devices-flashlight-parts/vme-malkoff-valiant-concepts-head

And this: http://www.malkoffdevices.com/drop-in-mod/dropins-for-surefire-and-malkoff/m61s-to-fit-surefire-malkoff/m61nl

...and you'll likely have one of the best lights you've ever owned.

Or, here is a nice multi-mode dropin: http://www.lighthound.com/Nailbender-Custom-Lites-Cree-XP-G-R4-3-Mode_p_3728.html

Technically I'm in at $3, the 123's were bought for my Fenix PD32 as well.  WOW that VME head is sweet and holy cow the options  :ahhh, crap what did I get myself into .

I love your suggestions again thanks a bunch.  What a cool host with many options, like you stated.

Lighthound.com has some more options also. You can buy a complete head for around $50. Also they have the E to C adapter so it can fit regular p60 drop ins. And they have p60 drop ins very reasonable.
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?
