Well gang.  After some thing, and my tax refund, I purchased a new Bicycle.  It's made by Giant Bicycles, and it's called the Momentum "I need Street".  Does anybody else have one??
I like that they thought of something "newish". How rigid is that frame?
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

The aluminum frame holds my 330lbs carcass quite nicely

Hauling beer mostly... I like that if it's empty you won't even notice its there. And it holds your spur quite well, so it's very maneuverable.

The only issue is that a certain someone who won't be named (but was just quoted :P ) didn't clean the mud off the frame and rear wheel..... ::)

I just picked this up a couple weeks ago. It is the CX-1 cyclocross bike from Nashbar. It has 700x28 road tires on it now. I have an alternate wheelset with knobbies to swap on for rough stuff.

Thanks  :tu:   It is nice not having to have a battle trying to battle the frame to get wheelsets on and off. Doing that on this bike is a dream

So, I have a 22 mile commute to work in fairly hilly Baltimore County.  Years ago, I could do the 44 mile round trip once per week when the weather permitted but it was a fair bit of work.  Time takes its toll and the commute just got to be so un-fun that I haven't made the trip in the last 4 or 5 years.

However, two weeks ago, I did some updating and modifications on my 1996 Mongoose Crossway 450:

Sometimes, a little help goes a long ways...

One still has to pedal, but with a little assist, the killing nature of the hill climbs are pretty well mitigated.

That little unit on my bike is 750W motor with a 52V 11.3ah battery.  But I did have to assemble it myself.

I did consider "upgrading" my current bike with a e-bike kit myself (250W tho), but decided that factory built e-bike with German components instead of Chinese is worth few hundred extra euros :tu:

Yea, I've spent the last 18 months reading reviews about various options.  The price to get in with a fully assembled unit that is adequate for long distance commuting was in the $2500-3000 range.  It was just a bit steep for me, just to see if it was "doable".  The kit I bought was just over $1000 ($450 of that was just the battery pack) from Luna Cycle in California.   They say they up-spec the controller units to make them more reliable.  So far, it's been fantastic.  Hopefully durable too.

I definitely want to read your review on your new ebike.
