FINALLY !!off to woods for a weekend,yippee.

i have a s--tload ow work to do for next two weeks,so i decided just hour ago,with few buddies to take off after that.
were heading some 80km´s away from this city to  a place called Helvetinjärvi(hellslake),there aint no big trails,no official camping grounds,its just an small lake in midde of ancient forst,some really fine canyons,and clear water.we´re tryin to find óne one place,where was a cabin for those who cut the logs almost 100 yrs ago there.and sleep in the ruins,without any tents,and were leaving all the modern hi-tech awat.no gps,no cellurar phones,no gas stoves.just pack the vital gear.im takin just a large knife and axe,one multi perhaps,light my fire scout fire maker,some kettle,and theres supposed to be lots of fish,so ill take fishingline,and couple hooks too,and salt;).i think i wont take there much of food,just some dried meat and berries&nuts,and water in those large us bladders.ill try avoid the need to take backpack,ill try stuff the gear into my beltpouches,even the sleepingbag seems to fit into buttpack.if we all can get few days off chool and work,we´ll be there there some 4 days,instead of two nights.im so excited...

im in school to become an outdoor guide,specializing in survival and life in lappland.so this is counted as a big plus in school since they take it as a project,which they can give me grades if i make some report and take few pics.


any suggestions on what to leave out of the gear and what to take.keep in mind this is supposed to be real everymans low-budget,half-survival thing which everyone can take/afford.

and hey,some tips for food?which i could try to do from cheap,easily availeable stuff ?

Wow! It sounds very exciting. Don't forget to bring extra batteries for your camera so you can take more pictures.

I will also be out from Monday until Wednesday and I already have my camera and extra batteries ready. My destination is not the wilderness but a highly urbanized place. Off to Manila to attend a convention andI will be bringing my laptop, so I may still be able to login to the forum.

I will be taking pictures of nice urban sceneries but I may also take pictures of sceneries with some tanned obstructions.

i have some perversion to these long gone sawmills,log cobins,etc,i like to take trips to "past",its like goin to museum but a lot better,even though there might not be anythin else,except some remains of buildings or just a smokepipe,furnace,or some ruins.couple summers ago i took a trip into northern finland,and there especially one one really large log cabin germany took over during war,and build a field there,for bombers to land.there was quite much war relics in nature and old german writings on cabins walls...man was i excited.it was like time machine for poor man

well....i envy all kindsa locations and places in uk,an us too,but in uk theres loads of ruins,castles etc that id like to see.im bit weird for my age,atleast among my friends cause id rather go to woods,ruins,museums than hit my butt to the pub at weekends.

well...now i can execute this intention to do some hiking on trails.im goin away,for this weekend,startin from tomorrow morning,and ill be back at sunday evening.so im out from this forum for a while .im here packin my gear,ill try to take as less i can,but the weathers are predicying lot of rains so i have to pack a tent and i just hate it ,but as i have my gal with me there,i dont want to make him upset cause of gettin wet(due to rain you pervs ).im taking the camera with me and ill try to take some pics of the wievs and general hassle i create .also im a bout to test this tracker of mine,and tell some thoughts afterwards.mine has still the stock grinds.other ive used has re-done edges so now i cansee what its like from factory.im also packin bottle of rum !,if the  rains are so heavy,we´ll just spend the day under tarp,eatin and playin cards,and sippin some warm rum,awesome .oh,heres my bag im bringing there too for first time:
