Too bad for them- it's pretty neat.
Yeah, you need special targets for crossbows. They massacre the ones we use for our compound bows.

I did have that thought myself  :o
However - There is a lot of 'legitimate' chat going on in this thread about flashlights and archery.
So my other thought was it should all be in its own thread.

Anyway welcome Megan - I enjoyed reading the thread so far - as these two topics are ones I know nothing about - being a SAK and multitool guy!!

Would love to try one of these:

(Image removed from quote.)

 :tu: :tu:

Whoa- that's really interesting. Where the heck do I find this one?

Nice choice of tools. Climber, CRKT.
 :salute: :tu:

One question for you: long, recurve or compound?

(I can just hear your thoughts, guys... It's not that!)

Ha!
I shoot a Mathews compound bow.
However, after visiting an outdoor show on the weekend and playing around with a recurve- I want one of those too.

Crossbow ftw.    Compound crossbow for when you really want it dead.

I think I love that it takes more skill to shoot a recurve.
I haven't shot a crossbow yet- maybe I'll change my mind.

totally agree with you on that one! I'm more accurate with a compound, but shooting a recurve is much more satisfying. :)

I'm thinking the compound will always be more accurate for easily identifiable yardage- and the recurve for everything in between :)

This guy oddly looks like Mike Ditka

We had some great shots with the wrist rocket/slingshot/catapult.

While arrow might have gone all the way through and the air pistol was the most accurate, the giant stone holes, occasionally with stones sticking out were perhaps the most dramatic.  :D

Anyway hi Megan and welcome to the nuthouse. Hold on to your wallet, for the next shiney is always nicer than the one you have  :P

I wondered why this introduction thread looked popular  :D
Welcome aboard Megan  Sorry to hear Grant plagues you in real life  :P :D :D

Recurve over compound for me. I don't have one, just a longbow (well, flatbow actually). Never tried compound as I don't hunt, and it doesn't "feel right" to me for archery to be high tech unless you're hunting  I did consider getting a traditional one piece recurve bow .... but never got round to it

Shooting stones at the watermelons with the sling shot was by far the most satisfying.
What a thud.
