Leatherman Rebar sex bolt/screw replacement

Hi,

My Rebar came from factory really stiff, gave it a few months to loosen up by itself but it remained almost the same.

So I took a liberty to undo crews a bit with another leatherman and a sog and while it's now much smoother to open and close I scratched screws a bit (rebar is black) and that bothers me. I normally like for tools to get all worn out with age but really hate when I damage something during repair.

Is there anything standard like torx available to replace that star screw nonsense and make tool easier to adjust?

Recently people started adding LM Kick pocketclips to their Rebars and using modified Kick pivots and screws to do so. As for factory screws that would fit. :think: I haven't heard of any but if you find them, please let me know.

Can anyone tell the exact size for that screw? I lost my screw and would like to buy a new one, but can't figure out the exact size, in local shops we only have the M standard screws. An M4 almost fits, but only goes in an almost full circle and no more.
Is this UTS? I want to order online, but should probably know the size.

For some idiotic reason i took the tool apart when I got it. After I assembled it back, the screws kept loosening until one was lost. Should have probably added loctite...

Using the kick bolt idea may work. But add bulk on each and every side unfortunately, if there was a flusher or countersunk option that be great. We have seen people here slot the screw. Not sure if there's still photos or if photobucket smurfed that up? Basically someone added a slot on the screws that would allow a flat head driver to loosen or tighten them.

Oh, also. It's not only the size of the screw, but the thread pattern and spacing is a determining factor.

Side note I use a little tape over the screws and handle prior to prevent any unwanted scratches and unwanted damage. Here's a sample pic of that.

Exactly, that's why I want to know the exact screw size/model. I read in some forum, that a guy replaced the screw with a 10-32 A2, so I ordered that one. When it came, it turned out too big. (Also, when i remembered what I read, I think it was for a different leatherman model).
Having no idea about US screw standards doesn't help either :(
