"Leatherman Tool Adapter"

I used to have one of these for my old 1st gen Wave many moons ago, but has since been lost. Can you still find these for sale anywhere?

There is one going in a local auction here in a couple days. What is your price limit?

I really don't know, probably not a lot. I was more curious if they were readily available, as a possible easy alternative to my Surge bit driver hack idea. If they're hard to find and/or expensive these days, I'll just stick with the hack.

Then I would recommend the universal over the standard one for a better fit.

When you say 'universal' and 'standard', which are you referring to? (I'm not totally clear on the different names Leatherman has given to all their different screwdriver adapters over the years. I'm not even sure if "tool adapter" was a real name or not).

The one you posted is the standard. This one is the universal one.

The bit that fits in the multitool is subtley different. One had lugs and notches to fit in the older multitools, whereas the other was made without so it would fit any ... including competitors butterfly opening tools

Never mind, I didn't read the whole thread from the beginning.

I didn't realize there were two variations of this. Looks like of the two images I posted, the top one was the "standard" and the bottom was the "universal"? Is one notable more rare or expensive than the other?

Which would fit better in a 1st gen Wave / current gen Surge?

I would say the universal for both of those.

Erg, so I'm seeing a few on eBay for like $30-40 USD. At that price I can just buy a regular ratcheting screwdriver and a box of bits. Oh well, guess I'll be going with my hack.

I bought the standard one cheap and modified it by grinding off the little nub.  Now it's a universal one.

Surge
Squirt ES4 (Make: Bomb Defuser edition)
Orig Tool Adapter (Modded to work w/ newer tools)
Micra (2 SS)
Squirt P4 (Blue) & PS4 (Red)
Mini-Tool (Black Oxide - date code 0800 and 0101)
Mini-Tool (SS - date code 1198 on both sides)
Wave (New Style)
Kick
Wingman
Style (Black), Style CS (Black) & Style PS (Black)
Craftsman Multi-Tool (#45201)
