Hudson Bay Company.
on: September 28, 2014, 01:45:04 AM
I went to a local historical site which I haven't been in decades, and I found something I was shocked to find. They had 3 nice HBC Victorinox knives, and a few other related items.

They had a Classic, a Spartan, and a Huntsman. I also got the Timex watch and wallet to round out the collection.

A little Leatherman information.

A Canadian not shopping Hudson's Bay? Isn't that sacrilegious?

Even this Yank knew about the Hudson Bay Vics. Also found out they won't ship to the US. Managed to pick up one of the Spartans though the other 'bay', ebay.

Nice score, by the way!  :tu:

To add to the back story, the site I visited which I will be posting photos in the photo section tomorrow, was a Northwest company location, which was put out of business by the HBC.  :D

Smurf, smurf and smurf in a smurfsmurf. $300 for a twin sized? This thing had better be 100% virgin wool from 100% virgin sheep hand loomed by sacred virgins! Whats so fancy?

I know they are heavier than most, but I buy 90% wool blankets that aren't cold war surplus for like $30. Ten blankets would be enough for -40 and then some.

They are 100% virgin wool and about the best blanket you'll ever find.  I have a four point  HB blanket I got at a yard sale for $5 and after using it I would pay the $300 for a new one and be very happy with my punches. Military surplus blankets are not even close to a HB blanket.

Nice collection. Although what caught my eye most was that Timex

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob

I Like that paddle. Thought at first it's a cricket bat. Which seems stupid since all I know about cricket is from the Hitchhiker's Guide.

But probably not wrong in fairness. Douglas Adams knew his cricket
