Day one done for me. Other than a lack of reach on the cap lifter, everything went OK. Cut some plastic tube, trimmed some cable ties, sliced some fruit, opened a bag of rice and used the awl to fish for some stuff deep in a control cabinet. Very happy.  :tu:

Hmm the 84mm apprentice I made here http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,44794.0.html

would be quite a challenge for me to get by with.  I dont know if I could go a whole month with it though.

I better decide today!

I think would like the Apprentice, as a companion to a bigger MT.  For this month, it could be a struggle.  So far, I'm ok with the Tourist.  Used the can opener to pry open a split ring, and opened my snack with the blade.  Not exactly a heavy duty day  :D

The thing that amuses me a little, is that there is no "normal" tool usage for me ... it varies all the time. For example, I was considering going for a Pioneer Rancher as I hardly ever use a can opener, but open a lot of packages at work so the pruner blade would be ideal.

Day one of the challenge, and the only tool I've used on the Scout Jr is the can opener

Basically, whatever the results are for me over this month, is not necessarily a reflection of what would be appropriate for me to carry the rest of the time  :ahhh :ahhh

I'm going to be interested to see if the Vic copes better than the Wenger with the identical tool load

Piccy of the combo for the month.

Used the E01 to walk around outside at night with my daughter.  It did quite well.  It was actually a little too bright, she kept wanting to stare at it.  At 18months old, it was hard to convince her it was a bad idea  ;)

Man, the combo tool on the wengerinox has some snap to it, I was surprised to find out.

I'm actually impressed with the small blade on the manager when cutting up my apple in hand. It glides through quite nicely. the thin blade and smaller surface area makes up for the short length.
