Yeah, I can probably afford one if I sell my L1, 120p, my arc aaa, and my T1 (i.e. everything I have).  ::)

Seriously speaking, there's something unusual in the pic. It's not the knife.

It looks like you swapped heads on the flashlights.

After swapping the heads I now have a L2D with smooth reflector and a L1D with OP reflector. I'm happy with the result... farhter throw with longer runtime for the L2D and more spill for the L1D.

Eddy, that's definitely how I would keep the L1D and L2D if they were mine.  I like a floodier beam for an EDC light, and the L2D is a great outdoor light, where the extra throw would come in handy.

If you want to get adventurous, you can take the heads apart and swap the reflectors.  It's probably best to leave them the way they are if the mis-matched labels don't bother you.

That's a very good suggestion Terry. Do I need any tools to open the besel and swap the reflectors? And do I need to apply locktite after swapping the reflectors?

Thanks Terry.

Eddie

The two pieces of the head have loctite on them from the factory.  I've been able to separate some of mine by wrapping both pieces of the head with some thick rubber bands and twisting hard with my fingers.  If you can separate them this way, you can then just unscrew the brass "pill" that has the led and circuit board in it, then unscrew the reflector.  EDIT -- no unscrewing of the pill needed.

The two pieces are sealed with an oring, so no loctite will be necessary when you put the heads back together.  I usually just clean as much of the factory loctite off as I can, and screw them back together without using lube.  The dry oring will have enough tension to keep them from unscrewing by themselves.

I have one here that is separated.  I'll try to take some pics for you so you can see how it all goes together.  It is a very job once you break the loctite.

Ok Terry. I will wait for the pics. Are there some connections to be desoldered and then resoldered?

Like Terry said, you just need to unscrew the parts.

It is actually easier than I stated above.  Just separate into two halves first.  This is the part that has loctite, so some torque and maybe some heat will be required.  If heat is needed, put the head in a thick plastic bag and suspend in hot (near boiling) water for a bit.  I don't recommend that you use any type of plier or vice to unscrew the head.

Then, use a pair of small needle-nose pliers or snapring pliers in the two holes shown to unscrew the reflector:

Try not to let the glass window drop out to avoid fingerprints.

Thanks for the pics Terry. I might do the swapping of the reflectors after I can find a flat rubber tourniquet.  I am hesitant to heat the head my emerging it in hot water. I will try first heating it by blowing hot air from hair drier. Will give you some update later.

Nice looking flashlight geodtech. Does it have the same workmanship and overall quality as SFs?

The hair dryer is a good way to start.  You might also try using some small strap wrenches if you have them.  I've attached an image of a strap wrench.

One thing I just thought about.  You should try separating the two pieces of the head while the head is attached to the flashlight body.  This should eliminate the possibility of deforming the threaded section of the head.

I've tried everything, strap wrenches, rubber bands, mole wrenches, freezing/boiling, nothing works on my P3D.  :(
