Look what I snagged on ebay I think it is a BO spirit . Micky D will be happy  :D. The seller does not have much feedback but is selling other stuff. $15 + $5 for postage it is a bit of a steal. So first Swisstool & first BO , I is a happy Mat.                                                                                                                                                               http://i8.ebayimg.com/02/i/000/fb/1d/a8df_1.JPG                 http://i11.ebayimg.com/02/i/000/fb/1d/ad7c_1.JPG

The only thing that I can see that is messed up is the serrated blade.. IMO, they are a bitch to sharpen: especially when the points are gone as on the BO..

Congrats an a great find!

Was it actually listed as a Swisstool or was it miscategorized? I am incredibly jealous as I have been scouring eBay for months for a cheap one and somehow missed it.  Darn you! :D

I thought that once too, the Spirit is considered a model of the Swisstool, the "Swisstool-Spirit" they "learned" me here  ::)

I suppose the way to look at it (and this may only make sense to me  Grin) is that the Spirit is a different form of the Swisstool rather than a completely new one

I know. It can be confusing. :)

Actually, what I meant was whether it was completely miscategorized. As in not listed as anything related to Swiss Army or Swisstools, Victorinox, etc. I have been scouring every keyword I could think of. I think it's time to rethink my strategy...  >:D

The spirit is second hand & I do not think it has a sheath. The seller only has a feedback score of one so that would have put a few potential buyers off. Max6166 , my bargain came from a Australia only ebay listing. I picked up a swisstool X for $49us by logging onto US ebay & looking up swisstool , I found US sellers happy to post overseas that would not come up on a search in Australia's Ebay . All things considered if it has only been used a couple of times as listed, it is well worth the risk.

Well considering the price I surely thought it wouldn't be NIB but hey for the money it's worth giving in on some things like sheaths  Most ppl here usually go and buy a better one for there MT anyway ;)

You are right. I wouldn't have bid.  I am too much of a scaredy cat.  :P

For me, the big problem is always shipping. Even US sellers frequently want $25+ to ship to Canada which frequently negates any savings. You basically just have to compare totals including shipping these days.

There really aren't that many used Swisstools and Spirits on eBay. Just a handful at any given time. I guess that speaks to their quality and staying power, but it also means they usually go for near full prices.

Anyway, congrats and I sincerely hope everything turns out great! Let us know when you get it!

I'd like to hear the story (s) of the tattoos, (I should read the thread)

The one round my wrist is "Rage against the machine" in Hindi. (I love that band)

The next one up is the Slipknot logo (again, I love that band)

Then you can see the bottom of some tribal which surrounds a portrait of my brother and also my brothers name with a chinese symbol underneath meaning "Younger brother" (you can see that in the pic).

On the other side of my arm I have a hieroglyph which means "Mother" and I also have circuitry which goes from my arm pit to my elbow.

I then have my Daughters name on my chest (son's to follow) and on my other arm is a rose with the words "Useless generation" underneath.  Anyone know what that one is for? :D

They are VERY addictive.  The only thing that has stopped me having more is the cost.  Eventually I will have my right arm completely covered.

Preachers ???

That be the one.  :)

For those that don't know, the band "The Manic Street Preachers" used to have a member Richie James Edwards who disappeared back in 1995.  To save me writing out the whole story, here's a linky http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richey_James_Edwards
