I carried my original Yeoman today down at the boat. The blade opened a pack of commercial grade carpet tiles and trimmed a bit of ply, the scissors dealt with a hang nail and a hard bit of skin, the Phillips drove a few screws on the hinges of the leaded glass door on the drinks cabinet, and the combo tool drove the small brass flat head screws that fixed the brass handle.
The biggest failing was the lack of awl for getting the screws started. Luckilly I had my Evowood 14 in another pocket ... although I should point out that while the Vics combo tool could drive those screws, there was nothing on the Wenger that was slim enough. The only other tool I had with an awl was the LM core which would have been a total fail, as thye holes would have been bigger than the thread diameter of the screws - Leatherman have never managed to make a decent awl IMHO
So a explorer would of been better then Al
