    It seems like this tool may be head and shoulder tougher than some of the other ones out on the market.  I just hope it is as well made as it looks in the show show coverage.

It felt solid, that's for sure. Those sidecutter jaws combined with SOG's compound leverage handles should make a great combination. The only thing left to be checked out is the hardness and cutting angle on the jaws. We didn't have any way to test this at the Show, obviously.

     The only downside to all these new tools coming out is to decide which ones to spend the cash on.  I'll run out of money before they run out of tools thats for sure.  I thought with the economy slowing down they would scale back but I sure am glad to be proven wrong.

The Gerber artifact is about 15CHF and the PowerAssist is about 120CHF. That's about all I'm getting for now.

Considering that the tool comes equipped with a fold out wire stripper as well, I have to agree with you.

That struck me as an odd placement as well. Could it have been done so that the notched areas would derive greater benefit from the compound leverage?

I have no idea how that would work, but it is the only thing I could come up with...

If you are in Switzerland,  you could probably do better by offering some Swiss Army knife or knives in trade for the SOG.
There are quite a few SAKs (including about half of Wenger's New Rangers) that are not available in the USA,
and you also likely have much better access to the vintage ones.
