SwissMaster International kitchen knife set.
on: November 09, 2014, 03:35:52 PM
I was a bit astounded that I found this item at a dollar store no less. For 3 bucks, which equates to a buck a knife, I just couldn't leave it there at the store looking so lost and lonely even though I have no need or use for such a set.

I chuckled at the Swiss emblem and name cropping up on this set. I have never heard of SwissMaster International Switzerland. When I looked it up, all I could find were web pages with this Eastern European language. Because of the um...high Euro price tag on the inside flap of the box, I can only assume it isn't Russian, because as far as I know, Russia does not use the Euro. On the other hand. looks like Russian to me to my very limited knowledge.

Speaking of which, 189 Euro equates to 267 Canadian dollars. This set is one of those cheap ploys where they place a high price tag to make you feel you got the deal of the century. Well for 3 bucks Canadian, I do feel like I got a great deal. These knives are surprisingly sharp, and the handles are very comfortable. No included sheath or knife storage...but still for 3 dollars, I cannot complain at all.

If you are around a Dollar Store in Ontario Canada, you should see if you can score a set for yourself. Great value for the money no matter how ones looks at this.

By the way, can anyone ID the language on the box. From my net searching, looks like SwissMaster International targets that market exclusively...as far as I can determine from my online search.

Could be Bulgarian, but they don't officially use EUR yet. Reckon N_N_R can clear this up for us, if she reads this thread.

I have seen this kit around here a few times, it retails for around 25 Euros, I think.

My Russian is rather bad, but did manage to read few words. Like blade purposes. There is facebook page that shows more kitchen stuff.

Is there anything more info behind that box?
