A challenge to ALL Members

2014 has been a hell of a year for us at MTO, with some big ups and some huge downs, and yet, despite it all, we've still managed to break the record for the highest post count of any year so far, with lots of time to spare.

Now I have a new challenge for everyone- if you look at our stats page you'll see that we are just under 23,000 posts away from hitting ONE MILLION posts for all time.  This is a huge milestone and it's taken us 8 years to get here.

Enki-ck pointed out that to beat that before the end of 2014 we'd need about 560 posts per day.  That's on the upper side of average for us, so it is well within the realm of possibilities.

So here's the challenge- let's try to hit ONE MILLION posts before the server clock clicks over to 2014, and really put 2014 to bed with a bang.

And, because this is a huge milestone, and because of what has happened to us all in 2014, I would like to dedicate our success (I have no doubt we'll make it if we try!) to the members we have lost this year- Travis Autry and John Snay aka Hawkchucker.

I'm going to make this happen, even if I have to make 560 posts a day myself which leads me to ask one simple question.

Thanks Def, I think doing this in remembrance of Travis and John is a great idea.

Thankfully, so do both of their wives.  I have been wondering what we could do to honor their memory and the timing worked out great for this.

As I said, it's been a rough year and these guys really did help shape the forum, and I am glad we can do this in their honor.  I still try to keep in touch with their families, and I have gotten words of approval from both of their wives about this.  They are both glad we are choosing to remember them with such a momentous occasion.
