Victorinox did indeed sell parts to Adler
on: March 18, 2016, 01:31:52 PM
Here's a discussion about Adler knives on the SAK Collectors forum.
I mentioned that I knew that Vic made parts for Adler and got confirmation from Robert Elsener himself:

Corwyn of Multitool, the First of His name, King of Victorinox, King of Leatherman, Gerber and the First Generation SOG, Lord of the Seven Wrenches, Protector of the Forum, Khal of the Bushes, called Corwyn Toolborn, the Unsharpened, Father of SAKs.

Suddenly the term SAK-a-like has a whole new meaning :tu:

Some Pics of an Adler Spartan
I cannot say for sure how old it is. Tool shape and dimension might very well be identical to Vic, although the Awl is profiled differently.
There is no halfstop on the caplifter and the corkscrew did not accept a Mini-driver, although omnly by a hair and I only had a new hexagonal one at hand.

Does anybody know if the info above might hold true for Mikov made SAKalikes, too? AFAIK they bought the original Adler Leegebruch Factory and carried on production back at their place.

Should have soem of those, too.

BTW: I had these pics at hand because I wanted to put the knife up on eBay. I´ll wait a few days so if anybody is interested, I´ll let it go cheap. Say, 12.- € shipped internationally?!

The German-made Imperial Schrades were reportedly made by Adler.

This explains why I have a NIB "Tinker" with a ISC Germany Tangstamp that has an Adler Box. Good Info!
I´ll try to do pics of teh other Adler Pocket Knives I have.

Some pics of the other ADLER Knives I own.

Package all around:

The leaflet:

Red one is a Tinker-like model marked Adler Germany on the Tang Stamp

I am sure I took pics of the folded from one piece Tweezer and the Toothpick, but I can´t fnd the files. But you can place Vic scyle tools in the Adler and vice versa.

ISC stamped "Tinker"

Comparison to a Spartan

And something Vic does not offer, a Hobo Knife:

Besides a Spartan:

The Pins are in the same position as on Vics.

They even added a Toothpick in the plastic middle liner:

Bump!
I´m curious if anybody has any more Info about this or maybe even just a few pics. Maybe Adler did more tools like on the Hobo differing from Vic?

Another little bump! Does any of our resident Vic Historians know anything about this side branch of (maybe) Vic history?
