Vic forester question
on: July 12, 2008, 12:22:39 PM
I tried to ask this over at SOSAK but knifeforums is just about unusable today  ::) and I cant get nothing out of it .

My question is do all Vic Foresters and those like it in the range have DE-GM 9305297 on the back of the blade tang ?
  I know it stands for a German patent of something but just wondered if it was on every model .

I have a  Forester without the patent number. My guess is,  the patent number is stamped on the blades destined for sale in Europe...

Direct from Mr. Elsener:

"DE-GM / 9305297 = It's the term of our German registered design of the locking mechanism:

DE = Deutschland / Germany

GM = Gebrauchsmuster / registered design

93005297 = number

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours sincerely

VICTORINOX

Executive Master of Business Excellence

Robert Elsener"

It is not on every knife however. I have seen Foresters, Rucksacks, etc. with and withouy the designation, Tim.

Thanks guys . I used to have a Dutch army knife which was based on the Centurian with the same blade and markings . I think the blades are from a batch that went into the GAK and DAK knives and all other in the size range .

Thanks again guys
