jet flame lighter. pocket torch ?
on: December 29, 2014, 05:54:18 PM
Anyone got any favorite indestructible wind and water resistant jet flame lighters.

I'm going to add a pocket torch to my winter edc.

I know ronson makes a great cheap jet flame lighter but I'm looking for something rugged and durable for my winter work edc

It will be more of a lighter for melting frozen locks and stuff than for lighting cigs.

I got a Walmart gift card so I can't buy it of they don't sell it.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Windmill or turboflame is where I am at in my search.  I know nothing about the two brands besides reviews I've read.

I'm pretty happy with my Wenger Clava (see my review)

However, I don't have anything similar to compare and I don't use it much (but its excellent to thaw my mailbox lock ::))
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

I got a turboflame v flame on the way.

It seemed to be the best out of the ones I looked at.

It likes to run on spendy triple filtered butane and it's finish is starting to chip all ready but it's running ok for me on ronson butane. Hot hot hot jet flame.

I'll try get some pics of the flame

If the piezo goes bad let me know. I can fix it or help you fix it. I've done mine once already.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Here is my favorite, and it rocks!
 http://www.amazon.com/Z-Plus-Torch-Flame-Lighter-Insert/dp/B00JXF7KW4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1423266145&sr=8-2&keywords=zplus

Just throw it in your favorite zippo case and your good, I would recommend the 1941 replica black crackle for added grip.
