Hows your belt holding up?
on: December 06, 2014, 02:44:54 AM
I sheath carry my MT daily so after a few years I noticed my old tired belt was getting pretty buggered up.  I wear a leather belt and there are clear signs of marring from my sheath.  I use a skinth and nite ize as well a LM nylon daily and over time it has suffered.
The belt is old mind you but the sheaths have added to the age.  I'll snap a pic in a bit I'm not in good light.

So hows your belt holding up?

Not good, it's a leather one as well, but a fairly cheap one. It's not straight anymore.

I just replaced my belt today. Mine is not messed up from the sheaths though. It is messed up where the buckle meets the belt.

I wear fairly heavy duty leather belts at work and at home. I have not really noticed any sheath damage to them.    :)

My Wilderness Tactical Instructor belt is about a year old and everyday it has two mag pouches, pistol holster and a MT sheath.

Shows no signs of wear and the stiff polymer liner works awesome at keeping the belt from folding over and making the weight of things just go away.

Will not wear any other belt unless I am forced to for a formal function.

The FF is a great idea but I do not fly much. Well when I do I carry a machine gun so a metal belt buckle is no issue.

They came out with a grey model I want to get when I get home. More low key for wearing around town.

I have been wearing a black Carhartt Leather belt for at least ten years.  I have only replaced it once, and that was nearly 5 years ago.  It's still holding up fine, in fact the one it replaced was still serviceable too, just worn.  It doesn't show any signs of wearing out soon, even though I've stretched it a bit.  I sheath carry every single day, and I put a key clip on the right side at about the 3:30 position.  It has scuffs but nothing bad.

I made this belt for work recently , the buckle was a gift from a good friend .

I wear a canvas webbing with grommets belt that I got from the JC Penny girls department 10years ago.
It's just starting to show wear and I have had anywhere from 2-3 sheaths on it every day for all of that time.  I think it was $12.  ;)

I just broke my black leather belt Thursday at work.

That made for a long rest of my day.

My black skinith looks kinda dumb on a brown belt but I'll get by until I can find a decent one. I'm done trying to buy belts online and Walmart.

Wilderness Tactical Instructor belt. You will that me later.

I have been wearing mine all deployment with medic pouch, spare mag, MT sheath and M9 holster. Still looks like new.

The one I use has the insert but if you do not carry a pistol it prolly is not needed.

Just the thread I was looking for! I had to wear a belt on my coveralls this weekend to stop from folding when I bent over.

I think I might ask for a nice one for my bday....or buy one for myself :D

I have been using a custom paracord belt I got off the bay.  It's great, it does not develop that bend that most of the leather belts I have used did.  You order it what ever length you want and since it does not have holes like a leather belt you can always make it tighter or looser whenever.  I have used it almost everyday over the last year and it still looks new.  :tu:

Some great leather work Ken.

I'm going to look into getting a subdued "tactical" belt for work.  I love my leather belt it definitely has the "bends" and is scuffed all to hell.  I''m gonna treat it with a leather conditioner when I have time but it's probably time to get a new belt sooner than later.

I made my belt in that very design (all black though) about 4 or 5 years ago.  I wear it every day, and it is holding up great!
If I can help, let me know

If you don't find one this shop on E-bay has some pretty nice hand made belts for a decent price.

Reminds of the buckles we had in boyscouts. Except it wasn't a spring lever, it was a rod that loved to slide loose and leave your pants hanging down. Nothing gets me PO'd like scouts wearing a Class A uniform incorrectly. Either wear it right or take it off.

Do they mention what the ribbing is made out of?
