Moved to the log cabin house a couple years ago. Recently joined a Beagle Club out this way (Near where the old Millers River tools were made!). I also hike the White Mountains sometimes, more often mountains closer to home, camp and kayak.
Couple of possibilities to consider:
1.) Garmin Alpha GPS and collar setup, map on device, the new ones of which also incorporate the Garmin InReach emergency alert system. More expensive.
2.) Pathfinder GPS and collar system, linked to map on cell phone, and then purchase separate Garmin InReach Mini. Less expensive, but is it if I need my cell phone AND a separate InReach Mini?
We will be "Beagling" about 150 acres. Any thoughts, suggestions based on experience?
