I don't know if the price will drop any lower on these this year, and personally feel that $18 for a Sidekick is about the best deal on a new MT out there. As a starter tool or beater/loaner, I simply don't think you can do better.

That is a pretty cheap price to start a Leatherman addiction but I would still take the Kick for $20 that was on sale earlier over the Sidekick though.

I'm not sure if either of these were aimed at me, but I HAD a Kick and traded it away. I personally much prefer the Sidekick. You get locking blade, saw, and as much grief as folks give the file, it's a good deal better than none. Since the tools on the Kick don't lock, I don't see them as any more useful than the Sidekick's. For the extra weight, I guess maybe if wire cutting is a priority...

For the added weight, I think it's worth getting the Sidekick. Particularly at $18.

This deal has come around a few years now. Last year, it was a Sidekick and Croc. This year, the sidekick alone. I don't imagine we're going to see this price again. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

Two of the three HD's in my general area have at least a dozen or more.  I'll wait for the additional price drop to $15.

I did pick up a marked down Gerger Crucial Essential for $11 at my Home Depot.

Picked up 7 of these at the folk's local HD.  They were able to arrange delivery from a nearby HD as they only had 1 in stock.  These will make great gifts for my maintenance staff in Vietnam, but it will take awhile before I can get them.

I bought a Sidekick for 17.00 yesterday at HD my HD had a lot of them. Day after Christmas Orchard Supply had Juices  for 20.00 i bought one i wish i had the money to buy more.
