The black handles are HAIII and the gold are standard anodizing.

That black scales with the HAIII would definitely be sweet, but those gold scales really came out beautifully in that photo.

The gold color came out on the yellow side but I kind of like it.

I'm trying to convince the guy to mix up a batch of magenta but he doesn't run that color normally.

I forgot how unforgiving the standard anodizing is when peening.

A couple love taps around the pins.

The HAIII handles are pretty tough and are pretty forgiving of glancing blows.

Wish I had more time in the shop lately...

Are there black ones? I thought they were hard anodized natural.

I need to take some pictures of my natural HA Farmer to show what it looks like after much use and abuse over the past few months.

There's not a ding or scratch to speak of.

That's good news Terry. Mine are holding up really well too.

I threw a slightly botched HA scale in a shell case tumbler with corncob media for a while and it didn't seem to bother the finish.

I did a decent run of the black scales and have about 25 sets.

Really wish I had more time right now, but family and yard duties have been keeping me running.

Hopefully in a couple more weeks I'll have a handle on everything and be able to post and peen more!

The gold is nice. Just wish it was a harder finish. Makes for a pretty knife though.
